Give Sightstone a 10% item-use CD
And let it build into Ruby's 20%. You'd see a sharp uptick in people building it more quickly.

No thanks.
are in no need of any buffs what-so-ever. They need nerfs.
Explain to me how this would change them? Most supports I know take Ruby anyway.

Are you serious? You're entire thread is to reduce their active CDs via sightstone lmao. Thats the entire thread
Yes, but it's only creating a staging rather than a full jump from 0% to 20%.
The only difference is that you'd have a landing of 10% along the way. The point of this is to incentivize earlier purchasing of SS. So how does an argument about items factor in as a huge detriment?

Because those items in particular are already immensely strong, and they at least are mildly gated because people typically don't want to fully upgrade to Ruby until other items are built. If you gave the 10% to the Sightstone, those items would get to absurd levels of OPness, because they would then become 100% absolute mandatory items for all supports, effectively shitting on half of supports' builds. We want the reliance on Redemption and Locket to diminish, not become full blown handcuffs.
So we're clear, a 10% reduction in their cooldown, saving one 12 seconds, and another 9, is game breaking, makes these items mandatory, which is a state they somehow aren't in when they're reduced by 24 seconds and 18 seconds?
Furthermore, it's 800g to go from SS to Ruby. What's the lag time on going from one to the other now on average? With respect, friend, I think you're blowing this out of proportion for reasons I can't determine.

After the Sightstone, you want to be relevant, and thus you want to build your items such as Face of the Mountain, Frost Queen's Claim, Redemption, Ardent Censor, etc. On a support's budget, 800 gold is not that readily available until later in the game; if you increase the frequency that these items are available to use, and in the landing phase, it will make them more overbearing. You're scoffing, but 9-12s on those cooldowns is that much shorter a window that opponents have to deal with you and your ADC. You clearly do not appreciate the impact and power that Redemption and Locket have in this game if you think that early access to lower cooldowns on them will not push them into absurdity.
Maybe I do, maybe I don't. What I've learned in my short life, however, is that you shouldn't not adjust thing A because thing B picks up problems. You should cross the bridge when you come to it. If adding this 10% CDR on items to SS makes Redemption and Locket OP, then adjust Locket and Redemption. But you can't make those assessments before field testing.
But I'm getting ahead of myself. Here's the situation. Where you once had 10 uses of Redemption, you're now getting 11 - IN A VACUUM.
In other words, if you remove all the times that death throws your timing off, or a situation doesn't present itself where you'd use either item, then perhaps it becomes OP. But if Redemption comes off cooldown - and then I have no reason to use it for 9 seconds - the 10% CDR on Redemption doesn't matter.
So I guess I'm asking you, unless you're standing in the field popping Redemption every time it's off CD, how often are you truly going to gain your 10th Redemption active?
And again, this is all between the time you get SS, and you upgrade to Ruby SS. It's a ludicrously small window that you're saying will break the game.
OH DAYUM that will be NICE!
And let it build into Ruby's 20%. You'd see a sharp uptick in people building it more quickly.
Pretty sure they aren't going to make any changes to sightstone in the near future. It's already so cost efficient that they'd probably hesitate to buff it any further.
The cool down on
don't need to be any shorter.
Yes, but how does this change the Ruby purchase? You'd still get a 20% CD on items.
