Help Me Understand Champion Roles

I don't understand what some champs are designed to do. I know what they do, but it doesn't make sense to me. I'd appreciate a little enlightenment to spare me from my confusion.

Before I ask about certain champs, I first want to give a few straightforward and obvious examples.

Ex1 Talon/LeBlanc - he's an assassin, looks for an opportunity to detonate a high priority squishy and gtfo

Ex2 Amumu - team diving tank. Initiates team fights by pulling himself to the front line and CCing enemy team, allows him to get to the backline and pressure enemy high damage threats. If ignored, can kill squishy targets.

Ex3 Illaoi/Darius/Renekton - Bruisers who can easily sustain in the midst of the enemy team while dealing substantial/consistent damage. Capable of being a huge threat with a proper backline and team composition.

Other easy to understand champ types/roles are: Veigar/Ziggs Xin/Irelia Teemo Wukong/Camille/Ekko Warwick/Udyr Etc etc

I understand why a lot of champion were implemented into league as they have a straightforward goal in mind that doesn't differ from laning phase to team fights.

Finally, for the champions who have missions/goals I cannot fathom.

Gangplank Fiora Singed Nunu/Ivern Rammus Ryze

There are more, but clarity for these will suffice for now.

Not saying there's anything wrong with them, but what am I actually supposed to do with them if I pick them. I know how they should be played, I've watched their champion spotlights, it simply doesn't make sense and I needed it broken down to a kindergarten level.

Veigar is a burst mage who is trying to catch people and assassinate them, but without diving in to close range and risking death. Ziggs is a siege champ with good poke and burst. Xin is a duelist who wants to 1v1 and split push. Irelia is a duelist who wants to 1v1 and split push (I think. Irelia is a little weird and different Irelia's play her different ways). Teemo is a split pusher who wants to draw people to him and stall them out with shrooms, allowing his team to open up the rest of the map. Wukong is a diver like amumu.

Gangplank is a late game hyper carry who wants to afk farm until about level 13 and pick up as much gold as possible, and then either split and have pressure with his ult, or group and chunk people out with barrels. Fiora is a duelist who wants to 1v1 and split, prefers to not teamfight unless the teamfight is multiple small skirmishes like 2v2 and 3v3. Singed is a split pusher who wants to get picks in a team fight if possible, if not he splits. Nunu and Ivern are supports who want to bolster their team while making the enemy jungle so useless that the game is basically a 4v5. You can think of them as "My goal is to make you more useless than me" as some like to put it. Rammus' rework is still up in the air for his role. Ryze is a late game hyper carry like Casseopeia.

Veigar is a late game hyper carry Ziggs is an artillery mage Xin is supposed to hope onto a carry and separate them from their team bust them down as fast as he can Irelia is a great duelist and can take more cc in fights due to her passive to make her more of a threat to squished Teemo is so you can report someone after the game Wukong/Camille/Elko are divers Warwick is for jungle control and good at securing carries with his ult As for the others I could write on but my break is over

Disruptors: Ideally get in and focus. Divide and conquer. It's hard to ignore when an enemy is on your face. In doing so correctly, you create moments of isolation for enemies and moments of opportunity for your allies. As people focus on you, enemies start dividing focus.

Skirmishers: Ideally good for taking out single-targets, but generally lack tools to isolate those targets. Generally will try to focus out-of-place targets.

Disruptors basically sums up Nunu, Singed, Rammus. If Nunu ults in the middle of your team, the ones who can't cancel it, try to get out as priority. He can lock down a single target with his E and help and ally get to them via his W. Singed basically harasses enemies til they have to pay attention. It's how proxy Singed works too. Split the enemy, remove a tanky dps enemy who will try to stop him. Rammus... straight in, taunt, soak, target and draw fire. Enemy's don't want taunted so tend to start spreading out a hair.

Skirmishers basically sums up Ryze, Fiora, Gangplank. Ryze, has initiation qualities, but will try to pick off targets who lose placement. Fiora, until snowballed does the same, like Yi, just melee burst. Gangplank, giant disruption ultimate combo'd on melee burst.

Both these types best played in junction.

Then there's Ivern. Ivern is a skirmisher with initiation qualities. Daisy is a disruptor. He's weird since he technically has both, but as a support he doesn't necessarily maintain a strong edge on either. Total gameplay adds up to peel and pinning for his supported ally. As Daisy disrupts, Ivern tries to enable allies to join in on his skirmisher shennanigans, since for balance reasons, he generally can't quite wipe enemies by himself.
