What is the Point of a Support?

Every single time I play against a team without a support, they always kick our ass. For example, last game I played the enemy picked a Tristana and Draven bot lane against me, a Lulu, and my adc a Lucian. The whole time nothing I could do would make us win because no matter what Draven and Tristana combined could just kill both of us in a few AA's at level 6. Late game mabye a support could help, except having an extra carry on your team doesn't exactly hurt either. In addition to this, if the team without the support kicks butt early game because they don't have a dumb support weighing them down, then they are going to kick butt late game because they have one more carry. There has to be an actual reason why it's the "meta" to have a support. From what I see a support would be better off just picking Pantheon or somebody else with high base damage and wrecking face early, farming unoccupied lanes, then wrecking face late game anyway. So I ask, what's the point of a support?

All strong supports (and to some extent junglers) have "overpowered" kits that can work on a fraction of the income of a carry. The tradeoff being that they are weak solo laners and/or require teammates to be effective.

There's only 4 gold streams on the map (3 lanes + jungle), where are you going to find the money to fund your 5th carry? Who's going to "gimp" themselves to invest in a Sightstone, Pink Wards and utility items (i.e.: Crucible)?

What is your elo?

Also, there are indeed kill lane "supports" like full AP annie, fiddlesticks or morgana (popular back at start of season 4). A trist/draven lane would get wrecked by full AP damage supports.

No offense, but you're Bronze II, you don't necessarily NEED to run a "proper" team comp in Bronze in order to win, just because of the way the game works down there.

Once you get to higher levels of play, the Supports have an extremely crucial role in the games, beyond just vision control (i.e. warding).

In general, the side with the support should win Lane. With two adcs they're probably both cs' ing, meaning your adc should get a gold lead and eventually will out damage both of them.

Regardless though, you can just play a safe, passive Lane. Let them push, get a gank, they have no utility and you have a jungler and a support, easy kill. Rinse and repeat. Late game, you have a fed adc and they have 2 really under farmed adcs.

A 2 adc team comp basically needs to win by 25min or they lose.

The problem you are having is that you are letting the ADCs poke you and I think you didn't take ignite. Against 2 ADC lanes, which I've seen as trolls even in gold/plat, all you need to do is pick a full AP support like Annie, Fiddlesticks, Morgana, Zyra or Karma, take ignite, take mid runes.

shield your adc fluffify the tristana and glitterlance the draven let lucian get to safety so he can keep farming.

I really don't get how Trist/Draven could win out against a Luc/Lulu, the poke on Luc/Lulu is just too dang strong for all in champs to survive.

Supports are the masters of team fights and protection. They control the battlefield. If you constantly roam and go solo, "No Support" teams will kill you. Those comps are usually really easy to shut down early game as well.

On the up side for that comp, having 2 carries means that you will have a LOT more late game killing power IF the carries can survive.
