If you are in Gold elo or lower, there really is no reason to ban Caitlyn anymore

I understand if you want to, due to her recent dominance. However, even before the nerfs, she was decently difficult to play, and now, it takes some real knowledge and skill in order to do well on her. In fact, I'd say she's as difficult to play and succeed on as someone like Vayne, Kalista, or Draven.

I know, I know, I probably sound crazy, right? How could Cait, the champ with the longest auto attack range and safest laning phase in the game possibly be hard to play and succeed on?

Well, it's because of her mid game. She has a great laning phase, and a decent late game, but her mid game is probably one of the worst out of any ADC. You need to be able to dominate your lane in the laning phase, that way you can just glide through the mid game, and pick things back up later in the game. If you can't win in lane, you will fall behind very quickly, and become a very insignificant damage threat.

"But, Electro, can't you just play safe and farm through the lane phase?" It isn't that simple, even in Bronze/Silver. With all of the hypercarries running around right now, if you just farm during the laning phase as Cait, you are essentially giving the game to your opponents. They will quickly out-scale, and out-damage you. Thus, you need to be able to shut them down early, and the recent attack speed nerfs affect exactly this.

I know high elo players still ban Caitlyn, but this is because they know how to properly control a lane, along with their support. They can abuse Caitlyn's strengths far more effectively, and come out ahead in the laning phase. Then, the rest of their team will understand that once she comes out of lane, she will be in her weakest state. Thus, they can properly protect her, and feed her resources in order to get her to late game quicker. Down in Bronze/Silver, and possibly even Gold, you don't get that kind of game knowledge.

Thus, if you are really wanting to ban an ADC, I would suggest either Twitch, Jinx, or Tristana. These guys can survive the laning phase without getting too far behind, and simply wreck the mid to late game. If you want to play an early game ADC in order to shut down those hypercarries, I would suggest Jhin or MF (I would also suggest Draven, but, you need to be pretty good on him to do that). Their early to mid game is strong enough that they simply out-damage the hypercarries, and can help snowball the rest of your team to where the hypercarries can simply not catch up quick enough.

And lastly, just stay the hell away from Kog'maw, Kalista, and Ezreal. You will find it very hard to win with these guys (unless you have a good duo partner, then Kalista isn't that bad).

TL;DR

Don't ban Cait if you are in low elo. There is no need to anymore.

There never was any reason to ban Caitlyn in the history of LoL.

Anyone who did so is bad.

So every pro team is made up of entirely bad players?
