Some of the trash tier champions that you shouldn't pick this patch

Aatrox, Darius, Diana, Mundo, Gangplank, Garen, Gragas, Hecarim, Jax, Olaf, Renekton, Shen, Shyvana, Trundle

The following champions lack either early game presence, mid game presence, late game presence, or some combination. Others are useless at all stages (Olaf) while others can't carry no matter how fed you get (Renekton), most of them just are worse versions of Gnar (Shen, Renekton again, Shyvana, etc), and others have been overnerfed to below 46% Win rate and below tier (Jax, Gragas)

Jax is a fucking beast lategame and doesnt have a TERRIBLE laning phase.

Gragas is a great cc tank that has early game damage and lategame utility with 2 displacement abilities and a slow.

It isn't all that difficult to farm with Q's as mundo.

Hecarim is the most snowbally duelist that gets incredibly tanky as the game goes on

If you build aatrox full damage then dont expect to scale. early game he has insane sustain and damage, and Lategame aatrox is a great tanky initiator

No he isn't, Jax sucks late game now and Riot knows this and that's why they're buffing his late game next patch with multiple buffs

The sad part about you being pretty much right is the same reason I don't play ranked: I can't play champions I find fun because they're simply overshadowed by people who do the same job but better. Riot seems to have a history of knee-jerk nerf reactions that is going to prevent this game from having anything resembling proper balance. Darius was good in pubs, sucked in tourneys - nerfed anyway despite never having been used even when he was strong in tournaments because he was so easy to counter, now even easier with the likes of Gnar who can harass him at range then go in for the kill in his tanky form, and then later do what Darius can't: wreck teamfights.

That said, just try and stop me from playing Diana in normals (not that you care) AHAHAHAHA!!

Shen should not be on this list. Can gnar splitpush, then join a fight/save a teammate all the way on the other side of the map almost immediately? I think not.

Half of the champions listed aren't that bad, but you are right, Gnar is pretty much better in any situation.

Aatrox is still strong, darius is ok but not great, diana is yeha kinda weak, mundo is an amazing jungler btw, gragas is useless since they nerfed him so hard, hecarim can still jungle just fine, jax can still be good, olaf is fucking a tower of power are you kidding me? renekton can do just fine unless hes against ranged champions, shen has been weak since S2, shyvana and trundle can still both jungle really well, or top lane well.

Correction: gragas is actually an amazing support. his low CD body slam is great cc, and his ulti gets a low cd also whihc makes pushing tower a huge risk

I've seen some incredible Gragas supports in Plat ELO games. Haven't been impressed with him mid or top, though.

I disagree with many of the "trash tier" champs on your list. Diana, Hecarim, Aatrox, Jax are all ok. They CAN do well, they can do bad. They are balanced. In my opinion, I rather enjoy nerfing OP champs, instead of buffing UP ones....Idk its just what I like more.
