I have seen at least 5 complaint posts saying that riot gutted kog maw and that he's never going to be good again. They act like it's some huge surprise when a champion is reverted to a previous state in an entirely different meta.

it could've been if they actually reverted him to what he was before.

no W cost and actual damage on his ult for in lane harass.

Riot commented on this saying that they considered the changes but wanted to take it slow first.

thats their excuse for sure.

but let me ask you this, was kog maw an oppressive must pick OP OP before hand? no, he was not, he was average and it still took a team to make him work.

um. What? Did you ever, EVER, face a jungle kog maw? How about one that one laning phase by two kills? He shredded everyone and everything like paper, no one wanted kog to stay, including riot.

The recent kogmaw thread is retarded. RIOT JUST REVERTED HIM AND ARE TRYING CHANGES and people are already saying fuck you rito. Jeez.

I don't care so much about where the winrate ended up as I care about why it ended up there. This isn't a complete revert that just left the champion in an unfavorable meta. It's a revert with additional nerfs, and Riot should have known that those nerfs would leave the champion in this state. That they didn't know was a problem.

Given that he was at about a 50% winrate before the rework, I did expect Riot to realize that making multiple aspects of his kit strictly weaker once he was reverted would be unnecessary. It's annoying because this isn't a new champion, where a high amount of caution is justified. It's an old, thoroughly explored design. There was no reason to think that he could end up any other way than this.

Either they were unjustifiably overparanoid about his balance state, or they were thick enough to thick that his new R was a buff instead of a nerf. Either way, Riot did a very poor job on the revert, and I have no problem with people taking them to task for it.
