If yasuo is too strong just nerf him, dont nerf the crit items cause of yasuo

Rexxiee··107 votes·3,569 views

Building crit seems to be viable again on adcs and even the likes of Jinx are now finally playable.

But as a side effect yasuo now has a 54% win rate top lane.

Please, for the love of god, DONT NERF THE CRIT ITEMS BECAUSE OF HIM, warlords has already been trashed multiple times when it was fine on adcs because of him, just nerf his passive or whatever already and let adcs have viable items for once, dont fking dumpster the whole class again because of 1 champion.

CertainlyT should stop protecting the tumors he has inserted in the game.

BALDG1VEN BOOMER12 votes

I mean CertainlyT isn't a bad designer he creates very unique champions that are fun to play most of the champions he's created were some of the most popular and deemed fun, if anything it's the balance that fucks up the champion.

Just my two cents on him.

People will always find it fun to achieve dominance just by picking a champion and forcing others to react to them instead of the other way around.

CertainlyT needs to start understanding that sometimes you need to stop adding stuff unto a champion. And he has later grown really fascinated with insane mobility that I don't want him touching a champion again.

The designer that has the most sensible approach in my opinion is Volty.

I think there's a very obvious reason Riot hasn't put him in charge of designing a new champ since he created this Kalista abomination. His WW rework was pretty good though, he's probably far better suited for reworks where he actually has some kind of constraint on what he can do rather than his original creations where he can just keep piling stuff into the kit.

SaltyToplaneGoat5 votes

Mordekaiser would like to have a word with you when it comes to THAT designer and reworks...

ModAcademy Kayn3 votes

To a degree, that isn't his fault entirely. He was told to rework Morde, a champion who needed a complete VGU, with only a Class Update allocated amount of resources. Notice how Skarner, who Riot Rep was in charge of, faced the same exact problems, as Skarner is also in the boat of needing a VGU. He had to find a way to change Morde's problems, without changing his theme, so he was forced to change gameplay instead.

Now, were the ideas faulty. Yeah, but I it's honestly not completely his fault. Dude was given a hard task with limited resources for changing things. It's like being asked to fix a bridge with only duck tape and glue.

Supreme Senpai691 votes

I dunno. Duck tape is pretty strong. Just the quacking that gets annoying.

Rip Midnight post spelling.

Mordekaiser No, just no......

He is shit at designing and redesigning, reworking one champ succesfully does not change all the failures.

Arsenic Sulfur2 votes

But...Mordekaiser was the first and only failure. Caitlyn went pretty well despite the overtuned numbers and Warwick was great. That makes up for it in the rework department. Kalista however was a mistake.

Dextix LT2 votes

Mordekaiser was a COMPLETE FAILURE, but that is not even the point, the point is that unlike other reworks CertainlyT tried to push mordekaiser in COMPLETELY different direction while acting fully arrogant about that.

Caitlyn is not something he worked alone on, it was a job by a few designers, not him alone, that is why it was not a failure. But even to this day her kit is really opressive in cases.

Warwick as his ONLY sucess, every other rework or champ he made ended as broken.

The ONLY balanced champion he has made is ZYRA, THATS ALL. The only sucesfull rework he has done is WARWICK, THATS ALL.

Everything else has broken kits that are impposible to properly balance and either stay opressive forever or are nerfed into the ground.

Blu 13 votes

The problem is that you can create an unbalanceable champion, or at least have the margin for error be so slim it will never happen.

Arsenic Sulfur1 votes

However surprisingly he only made one TRULY one unbalanceable champion being Kalista. Thresh set the standard for supports making him better for the game's health in the long run, Yasuo merely needs incentive to max Q instead of E for him to be completely balanced, Darius is considered the quintessential Juggernaut, and Zyra needs focus.

Dextix LT2 votes

All of those champs besides zyra have hard to balance kits and are dominant and toxic examples of their respective classes.

Darius only counterplay to this day remains "dont go close to him", he needed a rework to make him proper counterplay.

Yasuo, while not being op, is still opressive, especially versus mages.

Thresh, before hard nerfs and new supports was and still is overloaded, he is not and was not good for games health at all.

Kalista is a monster.

He made mordekaiser into a bot laner with the rework (DAFUQ????) and as such had to give him a broken passive and kit to even make him CLOSE to viable there.

Caitlyn was worked on by many people, but is opressive in how her sieging kit works because she also has insane damage without the sieges.

All of these champions he had any hand in are inredibly hard to properly balance and are opressive to play against. Theonly 2 good champs he has worked on are WW and ZYRA. THATS IT! There is areason why his ass is hated. ANd that is because while hemakes fun to play champions, his champions are complete crap to fight against and have shit counterplay options.

Dextix LT2 votes

Fun to play, shit to play AGAINST. It is not the balance that fucks up the champions, it is certainlyT with his completely overbearing kits that have to have EVERYTHING. There are limits to what the balance teamcan do when CertainlyT designs monsters.

You realize balance and design team are two different teams

Why don't they just ditch his double crit chance? Then sit back and watch how he does, and balance him appropriately. His double crit chance doesn't seem crazy important to his kit, but makes the crit meta work around him.

Ralanr19 votes

It is actually because otherwise you'll just make him build tanky/juggernaut like since building full crit to gain the right damage output isn't worth it.

Something that's very mobile and very hard to kill is very cancerous.

FiddlesOnTheRoof4 votes

But at least an entire line of items wouldn't be balanced around that single champ. I guess maybe make his mobility cooldown scale off AD? IDK. That champion is well designed but seems like a balance nightmare.

Ralanr5 votes

Crit is not balanced around Yasuo. He needs it but it's not like the entire item group is balanced around him.

But if you must say that crit is balanced around the crit based melee carries, then don't ignore Tryndamere's crit synergy.

FiddlesOnTheRoof17 votes

The key difference is that Tryndamere's kit is garbage, and Yasuo's kit is overloaded.

Ralanr4 votes

That doesn't excuse ignoring the other guy that actually gains free crit.

JavelinJoe10 votes

But he cant abuse it as much as Yasuo can. Trynd has only 1 gap closer and no hard CC. Yasuo has 2 gap closers (E and ult) , 2 hard CC (Q and ult), a passive shield which recharges with movement, and I think you are forgetting that Yasuo actually gains 50% free crit.

Trynd also has to work for his crit. Yasuo spends 3400 gold (item 3087 item 1018) or 2000 gold (item 1018 item 1018 item 1051) and has 100% crit chance.

So basically what a normally crit based champion (like Caitlyn or Jinx) spends on 1 crit/damage item with only a 20% crit chance (item 3031 or item 3508), he can buy a crit/attack speed item and a 20% crit item for the same price and gains a full 100% crit chance. That is why crit is an issue on him.

Sure Trynd has some crit built into his kit, but he has to earn it, and it does not give him 100% crit chance, just 35%.

One thing i find frustrating is the fact that he gets double crit and a free shield, how about we attack one of those? Like make the shield disappear when his windwall is use rather then a free shield and windwall, or how about scaling crit so he cant just rush two items and stomp everyone.

Mecha Incognito4 votes

I've always felt that Windwall lasts too long. It's a cool skill, that should reward skillful use (and punish randomly using it). But it has a long duration that can block far too much.

Maybe 2 seconds would be fine. It would feel a lot less terrible to play against if he gets ahead.

Lauchmelder3 votes

Imo the only reason Trynd is played with Crit is because of his ult. If he didn't have the invincibility he couldn't build crit and wreck teams with it.

Ralanr2 votes

No shit, Sherlock.

Lauchmelder4 votes

Then why do you bring him up?

WinTheWarOnPants2 votes

Only if they did it wrong...... yep lets not try that! In all honesty though, Yasuo should be an early/mid game champ that falls off. Not a late game monster. The high skill cap is wasted on a champ that will simply outscale his difficulty. Giving him a resource, removing his double crit and making him scale like an AD caster instead of a melee Vayne would do wonders for lowering his frustration IMO

FiddlesOnTheRoof2 votes

As I said, then he could get buffed in other areas.

Ralanr2 votes

Like where? Making him not squishy? That's worse.

FiddlesOnTheRoof5 votes

I don't know man. I'm not a designer. But I do know that plenty of other squishy assassins/fighters function just fight without double crit chance.

Ralanr1 votes

And they aren't Yasuo.

FiddlesOnTheRoof2 votes

So what is exclusive to Yasuo's kit that makes him crit dependent?

Guy Fox Teemo5 votes

Whats so special about Yi being immunie to slows? Or Mundo healing for a ton? Or Cho'gath being super big and tanky?

Nothing, none of it is fucking special and they could get a whole new ability. But its part of their kit, and the identity the champion has.

You can't just remove shit you personally dont like. I would say double crit on Yasuo is the least of his problems.

GULAG 4 U2 votes

Other skirmishers function just fine without 2x crit chance BECAUSE they have other damage steroids to make up for it.

Aatrox has 2 forms of AS boosts, his W and his passive gives base AD (synergy with steraks).

Yi has the most damage steroids out of any skirmisher and probably champion in the game too. He does have 0 cc or anything remotely looking like utility though.

Guy Fox Teemo2 votes

Only champion who's entire kit is based around him having a bunch of crit.

Remove that any Yasuo becomes a basic bitch, Mobile Tank melee characters whos actually fking annoying because unlike normal Yasuo, you can't just CC and kill him.

FooDang6 votes

The problem with Yasuo is his passive makes getting any crit Item gold efficient. Just getting Zeal gives him a free 800 gold in his pocket in stats...

oSEXYPLATYPUSo5 votes

ok what makes Yasuo stronger is that crit items are cheaper so he gets to the power spikes faster due to the cost being lowered

Hunted90001 votes

please tell me in what situation I would want static shiv or rapid fire on yasuo, and I.E. did not get any cheaper.

Calabok5 votes

no,

just nerf BOTH of them

TotalJerk3 votes

Remove the ability for Q to apply on-hit effects. That means he doesn't feel like a mobile Dr. Mundo when he gets ahead with lifesteal items.
