Whats the point of reworking Arch Angels staff just to gut it back to a state of awful to use?

At the end of the day riot, all you are doing is giving yourself unnecessary work that accomplishes nothing. Before the rework, item 3003 was terrible because of how long it took to charge. After the rework, it is terrible because it no give very little ap while charging.

The end result is it was an awful item before the rework and it remains awful even after. All you managed to do was waste balancing resource time that coulda been used to address other outstanding issues such as Zed. Or even the the ones that have been neglected for years like Karma.

Honestly both item 3003 item 3030 are terrible and riot won't work on it anymore cause they have already wasted enough time on it.

Meanwhile players will have to wait another decade for them to get it right. Also, ADC crt items are priority number 1 right now after just a few patches of being in a bad state.

So those items will have to wait.

If you think it "takes forever" to upgrade them, then you're using them on the wrong champs. They are designed for spammy champs with mana problems, it is mostly the mana gain that they are used for, the other stats aren't as cost-efficient.

But the initial purpose was: Luden for poke and early damage. Archangel for make the power into late game instead of early Glp for slow that should help to hit more spell. The actual state is: Luden build this on everything that doesn't have to spam. Archangel is builded only if you deal damage that scale with mana (ryze and kassadin) or has high need to use mana. Glp is never build since luden is better as damage and mobility is far too high that an active slow isn't enough.

ugh what game are you playing? That is not how any of that works...

Ludens is a burst item, designed for burst champs, problem is people don't get that and build it on other champs Archangels was ALWAYS about mana sustain, which is why Ryze and Singed really built this item, since they have insane mana consumptions (I'm not sure if Ryze still has that problem) current Veigar also uses Archangels really well if you're harassing enemies like you should to get ap stacks GLP is an initiation tool for ap champs like Rumble, Ryze, Swain, Cho, the slow was to help these champs stay on their target once they initiated, it was never JUST about the slow.

I think he means that's what Riot said the intended goal was, because in Patch 8.4's notes, they said the choice of each lost chapter upgrade was:

item 3285: This one's for Poking. item 3030: This one's for Catching. item 3003: This one's for Scaling. (The actual patch notes said 'Mo' mana, Mo' spellcasts', but the initial post that previewed the items said it was meant to be the option you pick for late game scaling).

That wasn't what we actually got, but looking at those goals for reference, then Archangel's Staff feeling pitiful pre-transform on a champion who doesn't spell-spam too much makes a lot of sense. It should be an investment toward the late game, so it feeling good to buy early on most champions doesn't seem like a good idea.

Singed really built this item

...... how long has it been since you saw a singed? anyway Archangels singed was a noob trap as roa did it's job better. The only time it was usefull was on a full mana build as it would mean you boosted your HP, Mana and AP.

Ludens is a burst item, designed for burst champs, problem is people don't get that and build it on other champs

It literally does both... it gives extra burst sure, but it also gives extra poke like the fuck are you smoking?

Because it was another worthless half assed rework.

Mages aren't allowed to have a decent item. Their itemization is Garbage-tier, and the moment a decent item pops up - it gets gutted for no conceivable reason.

U might be building it and utilizing it abit incorrectly tbh. Generally I back as early as I can to get tear then allow it to stack, sometimes if I’m fed u can buy tear and lost chapter around the same time. But I wouldn’t say it’s a weak item. Especially if u take manaflow band with it. I’ve accidentally bought it several times (meant to buy ludens but misclicked and didn’t realize till I see that it’s not splashing or that there’s a seraphs in my inventory). It stacks pretty quickly on spammy mages (good tip is to spam spells while in base recharging and if u have blue buff) The first like 3-5 mins of it is where it’s a noticeable dmg decrease, but after that it equalizes (especially once other items are bought) and eventually it lutscales ludens. Plus the active component is extremely good. U should be able to get it fully stacked by the around the 20 min mark.

The better question was why they tried to take an item that was used to increase mana pools on scaling champions and turn it into an item everyone wanted.

It stopped serving a niche and started doing everything.

I would assume it is partially because many of the champions it was initially for don't synergize as well with it anymore, or just aren't played.

item 3003 should stack in the same way it doesn't matter how much your champion can spam

just make it stack with time like item 3027 or increase the mana gain per cast but increase the delay between each stack so it's viable on everyone

item 3030 needs some damage back on its active, something like +15% AP acaling and it's fine

item 3030 Is never gonna be good just get item 3116.

item 3003 idk why this is a"bad item" it solves your mana issues and gives the most ap out of all items aside from deathcap. I hate tear, I absolutely detest it and refused to buy it on ezreal until his double tear build this season. but it's evolved items are quite decent and i've come to appreciate them. As soon as you evolve it it stacks real fast and it's a much more enjoyable experience. You just have to finish it and not sit on your tear.
