Because heres the real truth, there's literally no reason to play him right now outside of the simply loving the champion. He doesn't suck, but he's not even top 3 mid laners at the moment. Not even top 5.

So, basically an item with the purpose to be invulnerable temporarily should ignore Zed's ult? By that logic, ignite should also go through zhonya's as well as all damage, period. In fact, let's just get rid of the whole of Zhonya's just so Zed is allowed to ult and kill as he pleases because there shouldn't be any reason to counter him. Let's also get rid of Thornmail while we're at it...I can just hear people complaining already, but really the whole point of the item is to give some sort of defense for mages as the physical damage dealers and tanks have Thornmail to make themselves survive a bit longer.
Yes, it's a strong item, but it's not one that will stop him completely and in fact a lot of good zeds know to try and get people to pop it just so they can ult and cause the insane burst. However, if Zed is going after the mage, there's a problem because he shouldn't be ulting those who have this item but rather the more squishy ADC who usually don't have this luxury as they'll be wielding an IE instead.
