@Meddler, I know you don't like listening to people, but can we save Poppy?

You don't like her because she's so tanky and does so much damage while building tanky. So, instead of gutting every aspect of her kit and making her more and more generic with every patch, can we intelligently nerf her?

Change her W passive to only be active while she's below the health threshold, and entirely remove the first half of the passive. Now she gets tankier only when she's low health, but drops to low health a lot faster if she messes up. Lower the number a bit, so that she can actually die, and her W isn't making her into an unkillable monster anymore.

Second, take a lot of base damage out of her Q, and move it into AD scaling. Even tank Poppy will have a bit of AD, so she'd still have a good bit of damage, but it wouldn't be overbearing. Now people who play bruiser or assassin Poppy have options, while tank Poppy can still be a thing and be effective without being overbearing.

  • W - Steadfast Presence Passive: Now only grants bonus resists while BELOW 40% health (25%, down from 30%).

  • Q - Hammer Shock: Now deals 30/45/65/75/90 (+90% bonus AD) + 2% (+1% per 60 AD (with my usual build, I have ~300 AD, which would come back to the 7% it originally had)) of the target's max health.

Bam. Now, we can give back a bit of E range, and Poppy is fixed, without sacrificing even more of her unique kit (the AA reset on passive anyone?).

But then, I know you don't really listen to anyone but yourself, so I don't know why I bother.

Oh, and, I'm not just some random person saying all that. >.> Poppy is one of my favorite champs.

I would be fine with that. If she wants to do dmg she should build dmg.

I suggested that aswell in a thread that got downvoted by the delusional tank mains on these boards. Nerf her base dmg, give her better AD ratios to make up for it.

Well, logic doesn't really apply in this game. More of just whatever's most profitable.

I'm not sure you should really make her %health be so reliant over her building AD. Maokai, Sion, and Zac (though Zac can be can kinda stupid) all get stronger with levels in their %health damage abilities.

I'm not saying they're okay either; they all need the same kind of treatment.

But then, Maokai and Sion do a LOT less % health damage, since Poppy's Q hits twice (14% max health damage in one go). Zac honestly needs to be nerfed at some point.

Poppy also has a lot of passive tank stats and her R to entirely disengage, so I think it's fair to make her damage be reliant on her building AD. If she wants to be a major damage threat, she needs to sacrifice a bit of tankiness to do it, but is still plenty of CC and damage while being a tank.

And, she'd still have (with normal tank AD -- BC + Sterak's) about 200 AD, which would be what, 4% x 2? That seems like enough to me.

Sion's max W is 14%. It does more by that regard.

%health damage is to help tanks stay somewhat relevant without building damage so they can build tanky.

Sion's W is all of like 5 inches. I think it's okay for him to keep that, especially since you can just break the shield and stop it.

No no no, don't make the Q scaling base AD!

...

Actually the scaling is still high enough that it'll actually be a buff. But, seriously, increase her bonus AD scalings. They aren't bad, but reducing the bases and %max health and adding more scalings is something I'd love.

It's a slight buff to a Poppy going AD, and a slight nerf to tank Poppy. But, if she loses her W passive while above 40%, AD Poppy is goinna be a lot squishier, so I don't think a bit more damage would break her.

In another thread, Meddler was literally complaining about her being too tanky and doing too much damage, yet he refuses to just take the simplest, most effective path, and goes around making her kit boring and generic.

Actually, you're just increasing the base damages because rn it's a bonus AD scaling. This would make her Q do a lot more damage in the standard build, and will weaken the AD build once the extra 20% scaling is more than the 90% of her base AD.

Whatever scaling it uses now is what it would still use. I just copied it out of my client.

But then you're just gutting the scaling... I think I was wrong earlier, and I think the Q has a 150% bonus AD scaling (the ult has either 90% or 110%, not sure)

Q has a 75% scaling, hits twice. So, 150 all together.

Was two 150% bonus ad scalings last I checked...?

You would quite literally one shot people then. It's 80% -- looking at my client right now.

I am mistaken.

Not sure where I got that 150% from 0_o
