in all honestly i think 
plants would make more sense if you could auto the seeds and step on the PLANTS. aka the opposite of how it current is.
but short of that.. at LEAST make it so zyra cant freaking use her plants to block skillshots.

kill the seeds before she spawns the plants? if her seeds were attack-able like i suggested it would me it much easier. plus it would mean when she DOES spawn the plant RIGHT NEXT TO YOU, you can just step on them and fight her. instead of walking away taking tons of hits

She'd have to immediatelly spawn a plant on every seed her passive gets out because instead it'd get effortlessly popped by a ranged auto which her opponent will certainly have in bot and almost certainly have in mid, probably wasting the said seed in the process. And because her damage outside of multiple plants got heavily nerfed she couldn't do with just her W active seeds.

The difference is that Zyra has to spend a seed and another spell - usually her [E], which is an essential CC spell with a long-cooldown - to accomplish it.
