>Talisman of Ascension No longers gives +75% base mana regen Unique passive movement speed increased from 20% to 200% [Changed Effect] UNIQUE Passive - Favor Enemy minions killed by your allies sometimes drop coins that give either 32 gold or 8% missing mana (minimum 15).

There's quite a bit to take in with all the changes, and after these changes I highly doubt I'll ever build Ancient Coin over Spellthiefs unless I'm super underestimating it.

For one, upgrading Ancient Coin to Nomad's Medallion doesn't give you any new stats apparently, which is odd.

For two, the mana regen is gone and since the coins only drop sometimes (whatever that means) you're probably better off running Spellthiefs instead for the extra mana and AP.

For three, upgrading to Eye of the Oasis still doesn't give you any new stats?

For four, giving this extremely random buff on the passive of Talisman makes no sense to me. Whoever built Talisman for the passive of being faster near turrets?? Talisman is a pretty useless item right now because of how little movement speed it seems to give for the 2400 gold you paid, The stats on it are also really "meh". The active has the potential to be useful and impactful but for some reason we're giving the passive more power? Why?

For five, what's the point of upgrading your Ancient Coin at all when you still get the exact same amount of gold and mana at all different tiers?

I have been playing around with some gold quints that give 3 gold per 10 seconds...... Calculating it out it, by 20 minutes you will have gotten 360 gold. To see if this was any kind of meaningfulness at all, ive used it a few times and barely even notice a difference.

With the current gold amulet, which with 5 gold per minion.... Theres roughly 8 minions per wave..... Waves come every 30 seconds or so? So sitting in range of minions for 20 minutes gives 1600 gold with the very bottom of the gold tier ladder potentially.

The highest with talisman/oasis giving 7 gold per would be 2240.

This also gives about 4 hp per? Meaning roughly 1440 healing done as a base.

New one is potentially better in theory.... Mabey..... But here, at best possible scenario.....

If every enemy minion dropped a coin that all of the time gave gold, that would be 10240 gold.

Seeing as it says sometimes, im going to just cut it in half for sake of having an easy number. 5120 gold.

Since it is sometimes mana and sometimes coins.... Again, cut in half. 2560.

With this in mind, having to collect them makes it similar to Bard and Thresh collecting their things...... The enemy adc and support surely are not going to just let you freely get gold without trying to poke you out/deal with you...... The number drops and drops and drops the more and more the enemy can poke or engage. This also depends on how long the coins last, if you do have to collect them.

Oh yes and add in the 2 gold per 10 seconds making a whopping 240 gold at 20 mins from the passive.

If my random 50% of the times are roughly close, then it does have more POTENTIAL...... But if you have to collect them, and the enemy can see, it does put it on the same level as the Spell Theif's Edge and Relic Shield..... So it does have some additional advantages and disadvantages

EDIT:

Keep in mind, this is singleing out gold in particular. Almost everything else about it is up for grabs based on individual usages etc. Also the time frames for the items potential are all based on a 20 minute time window

The Mana (getting missing mana from coins rather than gold.... Means the mana gain is greater the more maximum mana but less current mana).... Means if you are only missing a bit of mana, its potential is lowered dramatically. On the other hand, if you use a lot of mana, its potential is a lot greater.

From the looks of things though, it looks like the entire middle tier is next to taken out stat wise..... Or is the HP regen still there? Would be helpful to know what its final complete base stats are for each item.....

Now to put in my opinions....

  1. Nomad's Medallion looks like its a complete waste of gold.

  2. I do like the collecting coins, because it gives some counterplay that the spell theif's edge and Relic shield have built in.... (needing to poke enemy champions, or kill minions, both of which give the enemy a chance to poke back). I REALLY hope however that the base stats for the items are buffed a little or tweaked a little so it is actually of worth to even upgrade past the Gold Coin.

  3. Missing mana is decent, it helps with high cost champions like Blitzcrank who have a low base mana pool, but im unsure if it is going to be better than the previous mana regen on the items, therefor solidifying him further to a Relic Shield type champion.

  4. If the base stats are not adjusted, i do hope that the build path is cheaper gold wise.

Hope this comment helps add to your main post.

About point 5, I think the upgrade will give you a higher chance for coins so they drop more often. Think about relic shield and its updates. The ammount of gold doesn't go up, all that changes is that you get more charges which regenerate faster and that means you get more gold in the end.

Same for coin, at least I think it will be like that.
