Unpopular opinion: I hate shen

No longer are ganks helpful. No longer can you invade the enemy jungle. No longer are 1v1s in lanes 1v1s. Bot lane already lost as soon as you get into the game, bonus if they have a good hook champion. Just killed the enemy with ignite? Nope. Just caught out the enemy jungler in a bad position? Haha. Dueling the enemyteam 2v2 under your own tower? Lol, shens here to tank for the enemy team.

I am so ready for the downvote storm of people telling me that I'm shit at the game and repeatedly stating how weak shen is, they are right on both accounts. That does not mean that I like shen any more.

EDIT: I should clarify that shen is usually somewhat easy to deal with as long as you have a competent team, but this is LoL and we all know competent teams are few and far between.

My issues are with how he can shield a teammate from death from the other side of the map, taunt the enemy, and block their autos(when being no where near his ally 5 seconds ago). His damage is pitiful.

Yeah, it can get annoying. The reason why a champion like Darius is good against Shen is because he is such a threat that Shen cannot fully concentrate on the map. Having someone who demands Shen's attention is one of the best ways to prevent him from making plays.

Also the auto block doesn't last long, so blow your abilities and CC near the end of its duration for an easy kill if you can. As for Shen himself, you know he's going to show up between you and your enemy. If you have the mobility to ignore him and kill the target, just sidestep the taunt. If you don't, just run. If Shen does not make anything happened you just put him at a HUGE disadvantage.

The game that made me QQ about shen is a game in which our trundle was afk half the game and shen already counters trundle. Like I said in my edit once I had cooled down a bit, he is easy to play against as long as your team is competent and the enemy team isn't in a premade. I still dislike the idea of a built in global team saving ability like his R.

To be frank, Trundle actually counters Shen really hard. But if Shen manages to get ahead of his opponent, and gets a titanic Hydra and sunfire under his belt quickly, he becomes obscenely hard to fight as a melee auto attacker.

If Shen gets fed he gets really tanky really quick. I've fought 1v3s as Shen getting hardly scratched because my sufficient resistances paired up with a Warmog's made me a nightmare to deal with. But you have to have REALLY fucked up to get to that point, which is what the guy who picked Riven into my Shen did.

Yes. Because if a lowly Bronze can point at a Diamond player and say truthfully that they are bad, even relatively, it speaks volumes more about your skill than your rank emblem does.

Oh my, just fuck rankeds, it's all Silver-Diamond only to know how to play safe and know how to get carried, the rest is just luck to get more synergized players/those with a better day because you cannot carry 1v9 and everyone who says otherwise is delusional.

That's why I play only to G5 everytime just to get the Victorious skin and then only normals, ranks don't mean anything most of the time.

Dude calm down. I too think that Darius should easily outduel Shen, the only problem that might occur for Darius in this matchups are or should be ganks. But all he said was that some Shen's "almost" outdueled him, which is alright as it is very possible that he avoided using his Q so that he wouldn't push the lane early in fear of getting ganked. It's very possible that good Darius players exploit the matchup less than worse Darius players when there is jungle pressure on top (a lot of jungle pressure though - Darius should shit on Shen in most situations).

What you are doing here is shaming him for being supposedly unskilled and that is just rude, regardless of rank. No clue why people support that kind of toxic behaviour.

The thing is Darius is supposed to win that lane matchup by default. Even if Shen gets really ahead Darius still wins fights against Shen. There had to be a massive gold difference (I'm talking 7k-10k range) for Shen to beat a Darius alone. Shen cannot 1v1 Darius because Darius is THE lane bully for melees.

I also would like to point out that he started using his rank to imply that what he is saying is correct, and even proceeded to rank-shame me. If it was any other scenario I would have agreed, but he clearly started playing the rank/skill card first, so I turned it on his head.

I've personally only lost to a Darius 2 or 3 times out of a fairly large number in lane as Shen, then again I've been maining him since 2014.

Shen I have been maining since 2015 since I started in 2014, as well. You usually would not lose to him because you play safe and don't feed him. Nowadays towers fall too fast for you to turtle like that, but you can still manage. But you can't dream of beating a competent Darius without jungler help.

If I'm against him in lane I usually sacrifice TP and swap it for ignite. I guess it's a dirty fight but it definitely turns it haha.
