So true. Good Thresh / Blitzcrank players use this to their advantage.

Especially as Soraka , the threat of being hooked can be tilting for me.

I mostly just accept the zoning during the laning phase. Otherwise, I may face death.

I play Taric a lot, and my favorite moments are when a thresh q's himself into my e, or a blitz hooks me so instead of maybe just landing the stun on him, I hit both blitz and the adc conveniently behind/next to him

Sheesh Blitzcrank scares me even when I'm playing Xerath with a good front line. The thought of him running up with his movespeed buff then grabbing me is terrifying even if it's extremely unlikely.

From someone who loves facing blitz and thresh, Nautilus , same pressure, twice the tank, twice the post ability utility. If youre shooting for an early kill lane, naut dominates thresh and blitz RIGHT NOW. But seriously, lane pressure into missed farm is the strongest feature these champs have i agree 100%

The THREAT of the hook is a lot more powerful than actually firing the hook.

There was a Riot post that also discussed this a little while ago, iirc: on several champions, including Blitz and Thresh, past a certain win rate, their spell usage decreased substantially, not simply because players aimed better, but because they held onto particularly strong spells and combos as a means of laying down persistent threat. Effectively, part of the threat of such champions isn't just that they can make great offensive plays, but that they can lay down a massive control zone as long as their hook remains off cooldown. It's basically as if those abilities had an unwritten passive bonus.

It's true, the hook must be respected.

Support is my off role, formally main role and the threat of the hook can often be enough to make an enemy ADC make a mistake and if they disrespect it, it allows you to walk right up to them and Flay/knock up punch to wake them up and get their flash.

They keep disrespecting they gonna die or be forced back.

Nautilus, Alistair and Leona are also great at creating that "respect my zone or else" pressure too.

As a support amin when playing Blitz/Morg a very sneaky thing to do is miss by a wide margin your q's. The enemy team gets complacent until you show them you're good with those q's and they get rekt a few times. Then you keep it in rserve and do a w charge up and walk back and they scurry for cover. I've gotten back into my Leona groove again and loving the champ once more. I've yet to play her a lot since the runes nerf. But I agree with the threat is enough to cause issues. It's just in low elo it's you're a terrible support if you're not spamming and landing 100% etc.

Yeah this is why i don't play thresh or blitzcrank in ranked since some players I notice in high elo sometimes allow themselves to get hooked.

If I'm playing as Ezreal, Tristana, Kled, Malphite, Alistar, Braum, Taric, Riven, Galio, Renekton in team fights or just lane phase I'll sometimes say in all chat "fml i got lag 700 ping" then few seconds later I'll just fake my disconnect by standing idle waiting to get hooked or have the enemy support waste a spell or two on me then go to town on them and their adc.

So right.

I was playing morg, and a guy flamed me for not E’ing him ALL the time.

Good players will capitalise when a key spell like this is used, so yes the threat of it is as great as the effect itself. People have no idea of the long cds of these things are, so will obviously flame when the spell isn’t up in time.
