Could someone explain Ekko to me?

So since seeing the little thing on how his abilities work i am still super confused on his ultimate. It says it makes you untargetable and invulnerable for a bit of time, then you pop back in time get a heal (based of life lost during the ults time frame) and do a big AOE nuke to enemy champions near by you. My question is, can you do anything while the ult i active, like attack use abilities ect.... How the hell does the heal work if you can't be targeted and you can't take damage during the ult?

Also other then a way to save his own ass, how is the ultimate useful for a team? It looks like you get an after image and that's what you port back to when the ult runs out of time. That's cool, but how is that useful? Do you play Ekko as a jungle, pop the ult while running towards the enemies and then when they try to flee, you pop back and AOE them?

Second question, is based around his slow/stun ( his W ability). Does this have a set time frame it will always go off after? like use ability and it will always go off after 2 seconds? or is it based off how far away the alternate Ekko is from where the ability will go off? Also can we talk about it's range? Looks to be an area of effect around the same size as Singed's glue, but at a cast range of like 1200-1500.

If his ult is off cooldown, the ghost guy follows him (4 secs behind). He can activate the skill to warp back to the ghosts location, becoming untargetable, dealing AoE magic damage and healing a small amount when he arrives at the new location

ok, so lets start with the basics. How long is the untargetable thing last? Are we talking like .25 seconds/ however long it takes for the explosion to occur. Are we talking like Fizz on his pole levels of untargetable?

I also don't see how you use the ult offensively, short of baiting people into chasing you (perhaps that's exactly how), or somehow plan out exactly where the enemy will move in the next 10 seconds.

It's like at max maybe a second (probably less). It's something you can maybe use to dodge a Cait ult (he actually has a quote for doing that), but not like Fizz's pole (not to mention that this is also an ultimate ability)

As for your second question, yes you are supposed to plan out where the clone is going to be. It adds strategy to playing him, as well as fulfilling Riot's "make him feel smart" fantasy for him

My guess is that the invulnerability is only for the dash itself, maybe the initial explosion.

As for using it offensively, besides baits your only option is if you can prolong a fight in a very close area. 4 seconds with them not leaving the radius = you can activate it offensively.

You can also activate his ultimate after going b to warp back to where you were before backing. I imagine it works the same with teleport.

You misunderstand the ult.

The shadow is ALWAYS there. It is an indicator of where he will go when he ults at any given point. It is there from the moment he puts a point in his ult at level 6 (unless it is on cooldown).
