Why is Malz getting what Kassadin is supposed to have?

-Edited to include the real point- Note: The Void Stone passive should have been on Malzahar to begin with, instead of Kassadin.

Why the hell is Malzahar's new passive EXACTLY what Kassadin's should be in the first place?

Ignores unit collision -> immune to CC

15% less magic damage -> reduced damage

I'm more upset that Kass is being ignored.

They need to rework Kass soon, so he can actually be an anti-mage to go along with this Mage update. It's sad enough Malzahar is one of his biggest counters already.

In the past, it was enough to simply take less magic damage and be extremely mobile. Now, there's enough CC, burst, and mobile picks to make that mean less. AND Kassadin no longer has his silence, so as it stands his Q can only effectively disrupt Xerath's ultimate, Nunu's ultimate, or Malz's/Urgot's if and only if the target's someone else, making him the least anti-mage excuse for an anti-mage ever. Every other assassin is better suited to that title, even with nothing in their kits that inherently says "pick me against Mages," since they have stronger early bursts and don't have to ult four times after waiting for Rod of Ages to stack to kill someone.

The game state has changed, and there's no reason to pretend the God of seasons 2 to 3 is still top of the food chain, and leave him completely untouched.

And why should Kassadin, one of the most mobile champions in the entire game, have CC immunity for free?

This, it makes the most sense on Malzahar anyway; since he relies on standing completely still to use his channeled ultimate, it rewards him for not being hit, by making him significantly harder to interrupt during his key moment.

It always made more sense to be on Malzahar, even Kass's current passive. Kassadin needs a whole new kit to coincide with this whole Mage update, so they can actually solidify what an "anti mage" is to League of Legends.

Also it makes his bad matchups more pronunced.

He is weak against long range midlaners. Who can poke his passive like crazy.

The passive is good against burst assassins.

Farm and chill, wait for them to dive-burst you, throw your minions while you SUPRESS them with the void for daring to try and hit you.

I'm just asking why he gets what appears to be a direct update of Void Stone while Kassadin is left with just a severely weakened form of his season 2 kit, in a new games state where many champions are on par with his mobility or simply don't need to be.

What Kass is missing right now is distinctness. He's fairly balanced, but literally everything he does someone else can do better, which doesn't make him very satisfying to play. And I would hesitate to call him one of the most mobile champions in the game these days. Sure his R is on a low cooldown, but its range is so short that it doesn't allow much strategically besides dodging skillshots and hopping walls.

Because the weakling can't even defend his own daughter from Malzahar.

Such a bitch, he got his passive stolen. Kass it getting bullied and we need to put a stop to it.

Speaking of which, with all this anti-Void lore added to Targon why the heck didn't they include Kass?

I don't think they even know what to do story-wise with Kassadin anymore.

Kassadin actually has mobility and can R away, why would you want to put damage and CC reduction on a champion that you should be able to lock down if you catch him? Also, I think Kass will probably be looked at if they do an Assassin update.

As I said, the original ability should have been on Malz anyway. He's the one who needs to take less damage since he's immobile. Kassadin simply needs a full relaunch.
