His reasoning is because we can get a 1000 gold worth of items for free just out of our runes. If you switch the positions of Hextech Flashtraption and Magical Footwear, you force the players to choose between free boots, a free stopwatch, or free biscuits.

And to be honest......I think it's a fantastic idea. No need to nerf either of the runes, just force the player to choose between them.

What are your guys' thoughts?

I'd like to see this instead of direct nerfs yes.

(Will mention its an idea that been thrown around on the baord in comments here and there for awhile though; they aren't the first to come up with the idea.)

I went with Dematerializer instead just because it kept the flavor of the rune rows.

I think that magical footwear already has significant downsides, though (you can't buy boots early which can really suck). I would rather see stopwatch nerfed so that it only becomes active at 10+ minutes.

The alternatives to magical footwear could be . . . better. Minion dematerializer is incredibly niche and I can't bring myself to get futures market since I know how bad debt is >_>. You're basically gambling that you will get some kind of gain from the immediate purchase of the items which will override the fee that you needed to pay for the loan.

The reason that everyone takes magical footwear is because the other 2 options just aren't good enough and not everyone needs 5% cdr from the third line. Simply put, magical footwear is good in a very general sort of way while the other options are extremely specialized. If magical footwear weren't there I would just go another tree entirely (like sorcery, which has celerity and then your choice of another great rune).

They would then need to do something about Hextech Flashtraption and Minion Dematerializer. Those two runes are utter garbage, and no one would pick them over Future's Market.
