Serious question about Rioters; What happened to your old guard? [Morello/Iron Stylus/Tamat/Guinso]

It 'feels' like the new guard is just screwing everything up... and while we BRUTALLY made fun of Morello on an extremely regular basis, it was out of love, not hate.... it's like he was our friend we could goof around with and Meddler is just some faceless corporate dude in a suit that walks in says "Break the game, HARD buff lethality" and then walks out [slight exaggeration]. Morello era was so good and Meddler era is just.... in my opinion, not as good as Morello era.
What are your thoughts? do you think the new guard is better than the old guard or is the reverse ?
