"I would be worried if he showed up as a prominent pick without a specialized comp built around him"

Gnar has become a staple the exact thing Riot didn't intend or want ** This has nothing to do with if he is OP or not OP, he is far too reliable as a pick as we can see with his almost 100% pickrate in LCS. He needs to be less reliable SINCE IT'S THE ENTIRE POINT OF HIS KIT AND DESIGN!!!**

He has become a staple pick that is safe to use no matter the comp or enemy which means they have made him far too reliable. They specifically stated they made him to be an unreliable pick and that if he ever became reliable that would be Riot's fault and they would have to fix him immediately.

Where are the nerfs Riot?

LCS big plays bb

"I would be worried if he ever showed up as a prominent pick without a specialized team comp built around him. Our pros tend to highly value reliability which is in direct conflict with Gnar's unreliable transformation. If he becomes a staple it likely means he's way more reliable than we intended."

Gnar's performance in the LCS when the jungler doesn't pick to support him has been pretty poor.

I fully believe he needs really hard nerfs because of how much he warps top, and he's one of two champions I never leave unbanned, but trying to justify a need for nerfs from his LCS performance is laughable.

Still, his priority for pick and ban and his prevalence in high elo in general seems a bit odd for a champion that is supposed to be situational at best.

So has Lee sin, what is your point? Riot clearly has champion favorites, everyone else can be easily forgotten. Look at Warwick, no one plays him anymore, they flat out butchered the werewolf to the point where he cannot function properly as a champion anymore.

I still see him a decent amount in ranked.

its too easy to just go mega and sit at drake/baron while your team takes it. enemy would be insane to engage on that and mega lasts long enough to do the full objective uncontested.

Exactly. You can hold on to the rage at like 98 way too long. Mega lasts 15 seconds. You only have to wait like 13 seconds to be Mega again. Mega has such a reliable rotation. After level 6 its pretty easy to avoid any harm with Gnar due to his Q and E.

I dont see the problem about a Reliable Champion

Gnar's design is supposed to be this large window of weakness when in ranged form and his unreliable control of his mega form, but in reality its not at all unreliable in practice and his ranged form is only slightly weaker than his mega form. Thats the problem.

So... You want him gutted?

I want him to have larger windows of risk and a much weaker mini form

If I recall correctly, mini Gnar is the squishiest champ in all of League.

Instead of crying for nerfs, can't we just cry for buffs of the low tiers instead?

Squishy for maybe 4 levels

Don't fight near walls, and force him to ult unfavorably. He isn't exactly j4.

He is picked 100% in LCS

Nothing about my ability or inability to fight him

But we have bigger balance issues. Like, Ahri being able to outplay and kill Zed. We can't have that in League of LC$BIGPLAYS.

"Let's make a fast, ranged, highly mobile toplaner with percent damage and a manaless, unblockable, highly slowing skillshot. And then let's give him as much cc and inherent tankyness as anyone else in the game during prolonged fights. WHAT COULD GO WRONG?"

Yes it is easy to see that Riot screwed up on Gnar. And it's amazing that they didn't realize it yet and haven't made attempts to fix him. Gnar's pick ban rate is ridiculous in the LCS, LPL, LCK 2015.

He's obviously too good. And when paired with Jarvan IV the duo combo is unbeatable in team fights.
