The Pefect Shen Rework

Another Shen Rework Idea, just way better.

WHETHER YOU THINK HE NEEDS A REWORK OR NOT CAN YOU PLEASE UPVOTE.

[Passive] Kinkou Order- Every 9 seconds shen next auto attack deals bonus magic damage and restores 10/20/30 energy, auto attack reduce the cooldown by 1 second. Additionally Shen takes 10% reduced total damage from critical strikes.

(You could keep it as Vorpal Blade it's just that it's a know fact ninjas throw shurikens and kunais not katanas or whatever it is shen uses.) [Q] Vorpal Blade- Cooldown 6/5.5/5/4.5/4 seconds. Costs 65 Energy. Deals 65/105/145/185/225 +65% Ability Power. Mark and heal unchange. Enemies marked with Vorpal Blade are injured and have their attack speed reduced by 6/7/8/9/10% for the duration of the mark. Dashing to a target marked with Vorpal Blade reduces the cooldown of Shadow Dash by 2 seconds.

[W] Feint- Cooldown 9/8/7/6/5 seconds. Costs 40 Energy. Absorbs 60/100/140/180/220 +40% Ability Power worth of damage for 3 seconds +1/2/3/4/5 for every 5% missing health. Feint removes all crowd control effects and makes shen immune to them for the duration. Auto attacks reduce the cooldown of Kinkou Order by 2 seconds while shield persists. If the shield has been broken shen is able to cast Crescent Slash within a time period of 3 seconds after the shield has been broken.

[W] Crescent Slash - Costs 25 Energy. Upon cast shen leaps 125 units away from cast direction, swiftly swinging his sword projecting purple energy in a 115° cone with a range of 375 units slightly knocking enemies back dealing 50% of the absorbed damage from shield as magic damage. Enemies struck are slowed by 40% for 1/1.25/1.5/1.75/2 seconds. Targets marked with vorpal blade who are struck are effected by Deep Wound, reducing thier armor by 5 and blead a value equivalent to the heal on vorpal blade.

[E] Shadow Dash- Cooldown 16/14/12/10/8 seconds. Costs 120/115/110/105/100 Energy. Deals 20/40/60/80/100 +100% Ability Power as true damage. Shen heals for 10% of the damage dealt per target taunted. Taunt duration increased to 1.75 seconds instead of 1.5. Hitbox increased. Restores 40 or 20 energy per champion taunted. Dashing to a target marked with Vorpal Blade reduces the cooldown of Shadow Dash by 2 seconds.

[R] Stand United- Shen can now teleport one ally along with him to target location. Shen can recast R to cancel the teleport, though still sending the shield.

Riot, please hear me out and tell me what you think. Also I think a Snake Eyes Shen Skin called Special Ops shen would be an awesome idea for an Ultimate Skin.

yours sincerely, ExecutorDill Shen

I think this is a game-breaking kind of kit. Shen would have too many good things: sustain, passive crit reducer, armor debuff, taunt, shield that becomes a slow, true damage and CC removal/immunity. And, the cooldowns are too low for what he gets from them. Also, I don't think Shen will ever be able to cancel his R AND send the shield; in small skirmishes he could continue pushing a lane and FedEx his carry some crazy survivability.

I do agree he could use a bit of a rework but I can't agree on this being an ideal or even fair kit. It's just a little too, too much.

At a quick glance (since I don't hve time to read in depth), the ult will run into the same trolling issues that Kalista's ult is having right now.

ExecutorDill1 votes

what trolling issues?

Lover Lips1 votes

He's fine the way he is, there's no need for a rework.

ExecutorDill1 votes

and actually once you stick with standard build shen, the E does less damage than the regular E unless enemies have alot of magic resist, then my E would do more. But ya your right.... definately will haveto change it.

ExecutorDill1 votes

he could use a little ability damage. since his ult dosen't help in lane. What do you think of the reworked W?

ExecutorDill1 votes

Actually my E is fine, at lvl one the most possible Ap anyone could have i'd say is roughly around 50 more or less, taking masteries, runes and staring items into the equation. Meaning at lvl 1 shadow dash will only do 20+50= 70 damage. Gangplank's and zilean's Q can do way more at lvl 1 in comparison.

Well thanks for commenting your views on the matter instead of just saying you like it or don't like it, your constructive criticism has been appreciated and i agree with you, the amor debuff along with attack speed slow and the mechanics may have been a tad bit; In fact I just started snowballing ideas i think could help. Now here is my counter to your comment.

Covering CC champs from each lane:

Olaf [FIGHTER] Olaf He has attack speed steroid, lifesteal, true damage ability, slow, armor/mr buff and CC immunity and attack damage steroid with his ult.

Sion [TANK] Sion Sion has 2 knock-ups, a shield that deals damage, a slow and does a hell of a lot damage for a tank.

Thresh [SUPPORT] Thresh Thresh has an imobize ability that can pull him to, a shield that works on allies and can pull them into a fight, and an ultimate that damages and slows targets.

Jinx/Varus [MARKSMAN] Jinx Varus They both have the ability to slow as well as imobilize targets.

All different champions from different lanes with better overall utility than shen. I thought tanks and mages were to have CC exclusively to them, and if not shouldn't tanks have the best so they can atleast secure a kill in teamfights. They are useless and in the current meta i believe teams can mange without them, I a jungler could do their job way better than them.

As for shen Shen. A ninja is suppose to be an elite spy using anything at their disposal to get the job done, in other words making custom shurikens out of nails an other materials. Ninjas are to be well equip whether their job is an espionage, infiltration, asassination are just full on combat. Translating well euipped to league, this must mean the champion has good utility and or strong CC as opposed to brute force. They must be ready for any situation and antcipates then enemies attack while being stealthy and agile, they can also be tanky.

Some ideas I think would keep to Shen's current identity, the shielding ninja, and add some power interaction from his kit:

P - Mark of the Watcher: Shen recieves a temporary bonus to his health for each nearby allied champion. Also, he will shield neary allies when consuming a Twilight Mark and heal himself for an amount.

Any enemy champion who has a mark consumed on them will take additional damage but cannot be marked again for 9 seconds.

Q - Vorpal Blade - Shen tosses a blade at a target applying a vorpal charge for 3 seconds. If the charge isn't consumed it will evolve to a Twilight Mark that lasts an additional 3 seconds. Shen can throw a second blade against a target to immediately active the Twilight Mark. Marks against a target cannot exceed 6 seconds. While Twilight Mark is active, enemies are slowed if they remain close to Shen.

W - Ki Strike: Shen's next basic attack will deal magic damage based on his maximum health. If used against a charged enemy, the charge will be consumed and deal bonus magic damage. Twilight Mark: The bonus damage will be triggered as true damage.

E - Shadow Dash: Dashes through targets dealing damage to enemies. Shen recieves a shield that stacks based on number of targets hit. Charged enemies are taunted for .75 seconds. Twilight Mark: Enemies hit will be taunted for .75 seconds. When Shen reaches the end of his dash he will return to the point of origin, taunting anyone on the way back for an additional second.

If Shadow Dash consumes a mark on a enemy champion, Shen can reactivate the Shadow Dash for free, one addtional time, within 10 seconds before the cooldown begins.

R - Stand United: Shen targets an area for 10 seconds. All allies will recieve a stacking shield the longer they stand in the area, up to 5 seconds. Shen can reactivates the ability to teleport anywhere inside the area, after completing a 3 second channel, he will taunt any nearby enemy when he arrives.

I'll just say I like the idea of his ult teleporting an ally. I guess it would be an ally in a range around shen when he finishes channelling? So that the ally can opt out by moving away (or be pushed away by the enemy). I like the idea. Haven't really caught on the rest, but I'd upvote just for the ult idea.

But I didn't upvote precisely because you asked for upvote.

Oh and Imunity to CC on E looks way overkill to me.

Yes they have to within the radius of the teleport and to Dex, i like my idea way better. Rengar and Kha'Zix are rivals and both of their ult gives them stealth. Shen and Zed are rivals so i think they should have some sort of gameplay simularity to them, hence, the double cast W. Zed's W is what makes Zed.. well Zed. Shen needs something outside his ult that speaks shen. A shield on W, not bad riot but why not give him a counter strike if guard breaks. Sounds ninja to me.

Here are my thoughts: Increase MS to 345, gains MR per level, small boost to HP/HP per level.

Passive:Feint

Shen is a ninja, and is thus a difficult target to pin down in a fight. His quick reactions and movements and keen senses allow him to roll with the punches and avoid damage.

Shen takes 6/8/10% less damage from basic attacks (levels 1/6/11) and Area of Effect Skills. After taking damage from 10/9/8 such attacks (levels 1/6/11) Shen gains stealth and the ability to move through units for 2 seconds. Activating a skill or attacking breaks this effect immediately.

Passive: Shadow Strike

After Shen enters stealth, his next attack within 5 seconds deals dmg to all nearby enemies (range: 250?), slowing them by 50% for 2.5 seconds.

Thoughts: This new passive allows for Shen to remain tanky, while also having the ability to reposition in combat. It rewards him with "ninja flare" for doing his job, being the front line and protecting his allies.

Q: Vorpal Blade_____Cost: 50 Energy________Cooldown: 8 seconds

Shen throws one of his swords in a straight line (Im thinking 600 range) that deals 80/120/160/200/240 (+50% Bonus AD)(+30%AP) magic damage to the first target hit, marking them and revealing them to Shen for 5 seconds. While marked Shen may reactivate this skill to cast Retrieval.

Q: Retrieval_______Cost: 25 Energy (Q's cooldown starts after this is cast, or the target is no longer marked)

Shen appears behind his target and rips the Vorpal Blade from them, dealing magic damage equal to 6/7/8/9/10% of the targets max health and healing Shen for the same.

The vorpal blade drinks the life of its targets and returns it to its weilder

THOUGHTS: This makes the skill more dynamic and fun to use. Grants him some fun uses, potential engage, escape, and feels ninja like when you just appear behind him. It gives him some decent sustain, but not over bearing and not as constant.

W: Ki-Strike_____ Cost: None____________Cooldown: 10/9.5/9/8.5/8 seconds

Shen's next basic attack deals bonus magic damage equal to 50% AD plus 10% Shen's bonus health. Hitting an enemy champion will restore 20 energy. Basic attacks against non-structures reduce the cooldown of this ability by 1 second, doubled vs Champions. If used in conjunction with Shadow Strike, the duration and power of the slow is increase to 65% for 3.25 seconds. Hitting multiple enemy champions does not restore more energy.

THOUGHTS: As an auto-attack reset, this should increase Shen's dueling power, as he can save his Ki-Strikes for the right moments. He can use it immediately for 1v1 dmg output, or save it for when his passive stealth procs to try and get a bigger slow on targets.

E: Shadow Dash________Cost: 120/110/100/90/80

Shen dashes a short distance (450) and deals 50/80/110/140/170(+60%AP) magic damage to all enemies he hits. Hitting enemy champions refunds 50% of the energy and taunts them for 1/1.25/1.5/1.75/2 seconds. While taunted, enemy champions must auto-attack Shen and Shen takes 50% reduced damage from them (DR applies to auto attacks only). Hitting multiple enemy champions does not refund more energy. The distance Shen dashes is increased by 50% of his bonus movement speed.

THOUGHTS: Ghost synergy anyone? :P Mobility tank is what I like here. Running from a ninja should be difficult.

R:Eye of Twilight/Shadow Protector

Passive: Eye of Twilight: Whenever Shen is stealthed (via his passive) he reveals invisible/stealthed units and traps within 500/550/600 range.

ACTIVE: Shadow Protector: Shen enters the realm of shadows, becoming untargetable and granting a shield to nearby allies (1000 range) equal to 10% of his max HP for up to 5 seconds. While he remains in the shadows, shielded allies can see invisible/stealthed units and traps within 300 range of themselves. The first time an allies Shield is broken, Shen leaves the shadows and appears next to ally.

THOUGHTS: This new ultimate would keep Shen as a team fight protector. The rest of his skills would still make him an effective split pusher, but doing so means his ult has less use. If Shen is supposed to be a ninja tank/protector, he should need to be with his team to do so. Split pushing should have a trade off.
