Riot Made Me A Support Main Again

Like seriously.

I used to main support seasons ago....but after queing mainly mid last season I finally made it out of Silver to Gold. I always qued up Mid/Support but never had a problem getting Mid...I rarely got support even with it as my secondary role.

But this season seems different. I still que up Mid/Support but I am getting support almost every game now. Yeah i could put another position as my secondary role but then that would just increase my chance of getting autofiled. And since someone farted and shyt out the idea of Positional Ranking, I'd rather spend my time in a game ranking up 1 role rather then bouncing around and making the climb that much longer.

So now since all im getting is support looks like I might as well just go back to being a support main and rank that up right? Well wrong. Because some how even though I was in Gold most of last season these Silver 4 games are unsupportable this season.

Like im literally doing all I can. I mainly play Zyra, but I can play many other champs. But I prefer control mages or Leona if i have to support. But damn...... i shouldnt be doing more damage than a KhaZix & Graves combined. Or come within 800 damage of out damaging a Jax & Twitch combined. I mean yeah...Zyra does a lot of damage...but when you got other roles only bringing 5k and 6k damage for the game, you are not going to win. No matter how much I ward, ping, take more deaths than i should trying to help a person that just wont respond, or try to get the team to stop flaming each other.

Its actually depressing if you think about it..... positional ranking has actually ruined the game to me.......the role i want to rank up, I dont get...and the role I do get......I just feel like a damn baby sitter thats out number by children acting up. And have to try to carry from the support role and make up lack of damage from multiple carry roles.

Just doesnt seem worth the time and energy.

I feel. Support is one of the harder roles to carry from a solo queue perspective. Roaming and trying to snowball as many people as you can or just getting yourself fed if you play champs like Zyra/Brand/Xerath is probably the best way to win.

See thats what i tried. Last season when I was Around Silver 2....i switched from support to mid.....made it to Gold. But now this season while Silver 4 its been giving me support alot and when i am mid even if I start good someone else is getting stomped. So I figured I might as well just que support and since I always do a lot of damage, ward good, try to tell people where and when to be or just tell them where I believe the enemy is if there is not a ward ( a lot of times im right). But if people dont listen or continue to try to fight someone that just killed them soon as they got back to lane...there is pretty much nothing i can do about that from that role and my champ pool.

And i mean im just talking about simple stuff liek 1 example......teammates running from bot lane to top lane when they see 3 enemies about to dive someone. Like in that situation just push the lane where u are. Running up there is a waste of time..odds are they will be dead before u get there and when u do get there u will die too. You might as well push and trade towers. Or another example...those people who decide to chase enemies running away from a fight instead of staying with the fight and killing the enemies who are still there...so in turn your team ends up losing the fight. This stuff is just ridiculous.

When your mmr is really high as the support the system doesn't factor your the support. So your enemy top laner will be 10 kills max farm and the team needs you the support to carry [slayer-jinx-unamused] If they have a way to lock down. Lissandra Malzahar It's just that much harder. Traditional supports don't have great wave clear. Well a Urgot can clear waves faster than most adcs well building tank. [sg-lulu]

Ranks just about who has the better smurf. And Being Support gives you a handicap.

Support is a great position to play...

ADC suffers the most from the new ranked system, almost 0 impact on the early game or macro decisions because no engage or utility and can't 1v1 either

Word to the wise: Zyra isn't best played as a support. She's a Jungler/Top.

I feel your pain. I was in promos to Gold. We got Baron twice, and we still lost. I had a 75% kill participation rate because my yellow bellied team simply didn't do anything. Jungle would go top lane to farm Krugs when drake was spawning. Top lane just followed the rest of us around like a lost puppy. Our Midland only had 500 AP to my 700 AP as Support with Ardent and Unholy Grail for my items. It was just an awful 45 min slog.
