why do people insist on picking lux support?

she's such a niche pick, and is so mana dependent for doing everything morgana does slightly worse. every time i see a lux support i die a little on the inside.

Because they can pick whatever they want. If you don't like playing with off-meta supports then play support yourself.

Seriously so sick of people complaining about what someone chooses as support when 90% of the time the person playing support gets stuck there because theyre last pick.

shes not soraka, leona, blitz, morg, janna or thresh though. not even zyra, annie, morg or fiddle.

playing lux support is like playing veigar support or brand support. not that theres anything wrong with that though. imo you can play support anything really. when im ADC i dont care what my support plays as long as they are warding, contributing to team fights, and not feeding in lane.

No, shes meta, her snare can hit 2 people her shield can hit the whole team and blocks AD, and her aoe slows naturally, and her ult is high burst, shes like a slightly different morg, when the enemy doesnt have high cc and you dont need as much hard cc, dont get how you think shes like a mid laner supp, she just a supp that can mid, like full ap sona, or lulu.

See, it's only recently I've even seen Fiddles support. Lux is far more meta a support than Fiddles in my opinion.

I can't recall the last time I have seen a Fiddles support, besides when I do it. After the fear nerf, his support was destroyed since his fear makes the enemy run to safety. Not saying he sucks, because in some situations, he is still good, but overall, he is not exactly used. I'm not sure what the difference is between the "meta" picks you described in Morg, Janna, Zrya, Annie, or Fiddles compared to the "off-meta" Lux.

If you could clarify that please. They all seem to be squishy mages that have CC.

Lux's shield soaks AD whereas black shield only does spells. Lux can root 2 to Morgana's 1. Lux can snipe the enemy carries whereas Morgana has to face check in order to ult them.

TBH I would always pick a morg supp over lux. CC is more of a threat to ADCs than just damage.

Why am I the only one that cares about her awful, high damage spam? Laning against her is absolutely a nightmare, you don't even have to do anything to lose half your health.

Lux is not a bad support, but a definitely a niche pick. Her ability to root and slow from a far is really helpful IF the skill shots hit.

She is a pretty good zoning area power, giving you lots of space to cs while enemy backs off from Lux's annoying AoE CC abilities.

I don't play ranked only blind pick normal and I use her as support as well as mid and top. lux is a good all round champ.

why lux? because most times people call one lane and go another if they see they will have a hard time and as I already stated lux can "cover" any lane.

as a non healing support she is very good and I have beaten many morgana supports with her as well as being beaten by them its all a matter of who makes the most mistakes.

many will say but morg is better,,,

I don't think so I believe they are equal..

support skills:

lux can slow, snare, shield and help keep the enemy adc zoned all from relative safe distance ,,, morg can snare and shield,,
both snares depend on clear shot to hit since minions will block them, both shields are effective lux shield hits outwards and inwards giving a chance to shield then re-shield morgs is one only,
lux can help zone enemy adc from cs/xp from a pretty safe distance while her adc freezes lane morg pushes lane to zone,

for a support ill take lux.
