What are some noob mistakes you made when you first started playing LoL?
I still remember in my earliest days of LoL I kept cancelling my own channeled abilities by walking

thought jungling with caitlyn would work by placing my traps on jg monsters lol
Buying RP
Bigest mistake
I liked the game?
My flashes...
LOL bro i did the channel cancel by walking w/ malz ult the first time i played him i felt so dumb lmao.
But when i first started i played a lot of jinx and lux, and my main fails were firing my ult/abilities backwards when trying to kite away lmao.
I didn't buy item components.
Rushed Bloodthirster on all ad champions Didn't buy potions Never bought boots Thornmail on Ashe ...
A fun list (For any context, I started around mid-late season 5) :
I used to think Katarina was Ad, simply because she had daggers, thus my build with her went something like this (Im surprised I didn't end up something like 0/14): https://matchhistory.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/#match-details/NA1/1974617007/230518000?tab=overview
I used to click ability icons instead of using hotkeys, I don't know why, but this lead me to believe short range targeted abilities such as Kha Q, were useless leading me to maxing abilities that probably shouldn't be maxed, Like Kha E.
I never asked for a leash when jungleing, leading me to believe jungleing, even with smite, was really hard and nearly impossible.
I thought abilities could damage turrets, and for some reason, I kept trying to hit turrets with abilities even when just went through them.
Bltz top, Teemo Adc, Nunu support, and Zac top

Consistantly bought Trinity Force on caitlyn..... when it still had AP on it as well.
Flashing at the slightest hint of danger. Popping heal instead of just using a potion. Turret diving and dying instead of getting the kill. Cancelling channeled ults like you mentioned. It took me way to long to figure out that you had stand still for Janna's ult to have it's full effect. Back then I wasn't looking up exactly how each ability worked so I just went by the tips toolbar which only says that it leaves healing winds after it pushes back enemies, so I falsely assumed it was just an after effect.
If you think that trying to kill the enemy under their tower is a good idea, no matter the situation, you will end up dead.
Season 1: First champion I ever played was Yi. My brother, who had introduced me to the game, told me, "Phantom Dancer and Trinity Force are the best items in the game"
So guess what items I built on every single champion? :^)
I thought Heimerdinger would be easy because I didn't have to control the turrets. And I kept building Swifties-Alacrity > Nashors > Zephyr on Shyvana.
Cast ignite as soon as I get to lane for the bonus ap/ad from a certain mastery
Tried to play Teemo as an adc.
Also took me a while before I discovered Braum and Nami, my first real set of support champs.
I didn't know how Jhin's ult worked so I didn't use it. This is also why I have my Summoner Spells on T & Y, because I figured I wouldn't be using my ult a lot.
Using a laptop touchpad.
Wow where do I start.
*Didn't know what farming meant. So let's say I focused on the enemy while let my support farm :"D (even encouraged them)
Jungle role doesn't exist. The perfect game is 2 top, 2 bot, one mid. And jungle is open for everyone to take what they want whenever they need to. :" D
You can play whatever you want in any lane, so yeah jax bot every game or Varus top xD you name it.
By sheer coincidence I found out the masteries and runes ( before runes forged) after playing the game for 2 years..... :'D
Thought Normal. Draft. Ranked were difficulty modes :' D Like normal intermediate and hard.
Lots of good memories xD.
i rushed
on EVERY singel champion i owned
When I first started, I had no idea how to play and even how to tell if a champion was ap or ad. I took Katarina top and tried to melee fight a Garen. After 5 deaths i go "This bitch sucks" fun times...

back when it didnt give ad or crit, just the 70% atk speed
Max E on Draven first because I thought skillshots must be the most powerful abilities.
Not knowing what a leash was or anything about the jungle really and taking my jungler's blue buff. Also not knowing anything about support and thinking farm could be shared bot lane. Oh my the salt.
My very first bot match I picked Katarina from the free rotation, because she looked cool and had daggers everywhere.
Clearly a character whose entire identity is daggers needed to buy a bunch of

Also I would ult waves (if the game let me, not as Kat) because the bots at the time were scary as hell and the way to win was to splitpush
I would always ghost to lane because shorter CD than teleport. Twitch was clearly a mid laner and veigar was my support main
I used to play old akali on toplane rushing both mejaji soulstealer and sword of the occult every game... Because the in game tips on Akali told that these items synergie with her,so I trusted them. Funnily enough,it worked pretty fine xD*[sg-miss-fortune]*
I played yi and built 3 hextech gunblades and 3 crit items because I thought I didn't need shoes
