"The laning phase is over, it's not your farm."

Then please tell me, someone please tell me how I'm supposed to keep my farm up when bot lane leaves their laning phase to come mid and the ADC takes all my farm. I just had a game where a Lucian lost lane horribly then came mid lane even though his turret was still standing. I went bot to try and protect the turret. When I came back mid and asked him to please stop taking my farm he replies "It's not YOUR farm, the laning phase is over lol." Whenever I play mid and my bot lane comes to mid I might as well say goodbye to my income because the mid lane farm now belongs to my ADC and if I even look at the big wave piling up bot lane I get a series of 5 pings from my ADC to back away.

How do you mid laners keep up your farm?

This isn't really something that can be answered outside the context of the game. There are numerous factors to consider. Some options you have at this point:

  1. Stay mid, pressure the tower and try to take it.
  2. Move bot, push the lane as far as you can (ward heavily), and back off when it becomes contested, presumably by 2 or more enemies.
  3. Roam top, and push for the top tower.

But one thing you absolutely DON'T want to do is sit in mid with 3 players passively farming. That's a good way to set yourself and your team behind. Once lanes begin rotating because "Laning phase is over" you should be looking for objectives. That might mean grouping up to take a tower, or it could mean taking an undefended tower because the enemy has grouped elsewhere.

Walk to a side lane, shove past river, walk back mid for teamfights. It’s what top laners do. Mid essentially swaps with bot after early game so they can be in position for objectives.

Top was still brawling and I didn't want to take my top laners farm. Bot was usually pushed out because the enemy bot roamed mid, but whenever I went bot to push or get farm my ADC would just spam ping me to back off. Usually when I play mid this happens a lot with ADC's usually ending up "claiming" bot and mid farm and they throw a hissy fit when you try to farm elsewhere.

This was supposed to be a general guide, not a fix for what happened in a past game. Sometimes your teammates will be jerks.

This is why I play Syndra.

I have a different experience. Usually it doesn't matter how fed or behind my midlaner is, they will take every minion from me because they have superior wave clear. ._.

This is why I'm a support main. Farming always make me anxious. I'd much rather get my ADC fed than have to worry about getting fed myself.

Actually, the ADC is correct. He lost tower. It's better to rotate than risk being piled on by over extending without tower.

Now, this used to bug me too until my life was changed by an obscure YouTube video by a not so famous high elo player demonstrating a method he calls, "Triangle farming". I use a more generalized approach to what he was talking about and found that it didn't matter how fucked you get in lane, you will always be able to clock insane CS numbers if you do it right.

My way of doing it is by observing the map and watching how my team is applying pressure and choose a lane based on that. I look for lanes that are pushing in and I go to the one my team is not going to. I push it in, and rotate to team fight, or push another lane, depending on what is happening.

Here's the video:- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5al9FlUKTEw

It really does work, and it doesn't matter who comes to take your farm.

Hard to get into specifics here, but basically the bot lane will begin to roam around once they take their turret. So the other bot lane needs to follow to match them, if they go into your lane, just go into their lane. Again it is situational, like if the enemy is pushing for a turret, you don't want to leave your team to deal with it and be outnumbered just so you can farm.
