There is no way of telling how much healing Grevious wounds prevented....

In theory, grievous wounds can do a lot of damage. If red kayne heals for 2000 health, grevious wounds can prevent 800 health from healing. But I'm never sure if it actually did anything. There are no indications that it worked, or the amount of healing it prevented.

I suggest the same way green numbers appear every time you heal, blue numbers should appear indicating the amount you didn't heal. Also, item 3165 should indicated the total amount of healing it prevented in the tool tip.

Thanks for reading.

I think this would cause more visual clutter. I’d be fine with it being a tool tip. Could also confuse newer players as to what the fuck blue numbers mean.

If it werent for the clutter it would be cool if they showed a black area in your health bar to show what you COULD HAVE gotten back... maybe use the area where the stabbed heart floats for this affect?

Adding more colored numbers to the fray would cause nothing but confusion. There's already alot going on. Though I'd support it if it was turned off by default and able to be toggled.

Phantom Dancer has a "Deaths Defied" on the tooltip already.

It used to also have a "Damage Reduced" one upon its rework, but they changed it to Deaths Defied instead of actually showing us both stats

Pretty sure Phantom Dancer and Death's Dance already have tooltips for their respective effects.

Or you could have it so if you hover over the item in your inventory it shows the total number of X done by the item. Like with Grasp and Klepto

Why not make it a hover over readout on the item ala Tear items?

Malak2 votes

I like it as a tooltip, like how it shows you how much gold you made with banner

And there's also the question of multiple applications of grevious wounds, to who is attributed the healing reduction ? Everyone ? The latest/first that applied it ? Divide the healing reduction between everyone who applied grevious wound ?

Seems like a decent quality of life change. +1

Unnecessary. What would this accomplish? You get grievous wounds to reduce healing, knowing the net result isn't really needed

"You get items to deal damage, the net result isn't really needed"

Just make the healing amount a different shade when affected by grievous wounds.

Frankly, whenever I've halted the building of a critical item to build a Grievous Wounds item to "counter" a heavy healer, they still win every trade/engagement, and often more resoundingly than before because I missed a power spike by halting the completion of another item for that counter item.

I can't think of a single time I haven't been made to regret building it. It seems like it doesn't matter if you're behind and you build it, they will still dumpster you. It seems like Grievous Wounds only works in an even or ahead situation at best.

Perhaps it should be an end of game stat like damage dealt or gold earned "Healing prevented"
