Let's try to start a discussion about Kalista
So far all I've seen about her on the forums are "she's OP", "fire CertainlyT", and "GG riot hates melee champions"
Whether all this is true/justified or not it doesn't really give us a place to start a conversation on how to fix her, if it is at all necessary (I'm of the opinion she's overtuned though)
The best way I can describe Kalista's intended playstyle is like some sort of dance with death. She's supposed to dance in, out, and around her opponent's kill ranges in battle while killing them and coordinating with her team to pull off a "perfect" teamfight. Note that our of all adcs played botlane, Kalista has the only one that doesn't deal and damage or give her any damage buff, this makes me more sure that Kalista wins through good plays and not raw damage output.
Her weakness lies (or at least it should) in longe rage poke and targetable lock down spells. Now it seems that these are weaknesses that all adcs share but the latter is more relevant to Kalista. She has a very limited set of tools to deal with threats outside of combat (basically all she can do is detect them ahead of time and run away or hope q-dash can save her). Excluding mobile adcs (who can obviously blink/dash to reposition themselves) most immobile ones have some way of creating slow zones or simply ccing an enemy. Kalista doesn't really have anything like this.
So in essence it's easier to start an engagement with kalista as compared to other (viable) adcs. However the problem lies, in my opinion, in the engagement.
She feels far to safe kiting around enemies and without multiple forms of mobility or cc combined with burst, it's pretty hard to catch (and that's not including the support who's peeling like nobodies business).
Therefore I propose that her range be reduced from 550 to 500 in order to give her less room for error when playing the kiting game. Hopefully, this will seperate the good Kalista's from the great ones (hue).
Now I'm not expert on Kalista, so in all likelihood what I've typed up might be a bunch of crap. But I hope to at least some sort of productive discussion in which we can actually quantify where/how she's strong and how to deal with it properly.
Tl;Dr Nerf Kalista's range from 550 to 500 and I think she'd be in a good place
