This is the reason that there needs to be more than just Zhonya's for AP champions to defend against AD. Bork and now Bloddrazer both grant this, in addition to being increased 50% by Guinsoo's, so having more health via Rylai, RoA, Hextech, or Liandry's doesn't effectively defend against it.
And yes, tank items do exist. But if the argument is that Randuin's can be bought on everyone, then Maw should just be removed and AD champs forced to purchase Visage or Banshee.
Valexfor1 votesIF you want tankyness buy tank items: %Health physical damage is countered by armor so instead of asking for another ap-armor item (which is plain stupid since it defeats the purpose of tanks and carries), buy a randuin or a FH or whatever tank items you like the most.
Also %Health damage is supposedly there to help counter HP stacking (so Rylai, RoA, Liandry, Hextech, BC, Frozen Mallet, Titanic Hydra, etc), so why the hell do you ask for something to counter something else that's working as intended?
The Ecdysiast1 votesI was simply explaining why there's such a call for more armor options. And with the nerf to Zhonya's AP it's even more prevalent that a champion have actual defense as opposed to an item that just lets the enemy AD assassin's cooldowns refresh before they kill you.
Valexfor1 votesYeah, I get it that it sucks to have so few armor options, but some champs are balanced exactly around that (mainly ap tanks). If there were more viable tank ap options a lot of champs like maokai, tank ekko, tank fizz, any tank-ish mage would be broken and would need some serious nerfing, this would force ap tanks to only have one specific build and squishy mages would build tanky anyway since they wouldn't lose any real damage but would gain the tankyness. are the ones I remember right now) and the reason is the one I explained before, maybe one item wouldn't change it too much, but it would either be a must buy or something that's never a good buy, even if the situation needs it.
