Being Matched With Bronze Vs. Bronze

Okay, I know I am only Silver 5 and that it is not uncommon for Silver to play with Bronze and Gold to play with Silver.

That said...

Most of my past games have involved mostly bronze players.

Why? Why am I expected to carry Bronze teams against Bronze teams? The skill difference between me and the other players on my teams OR the enemy teams is just so very noticeable as of late that I know I am being placed in the wrong groups.

Games are either too easy because my macro play is so far above the enemy teams I face that split pushing is almost a guaranteed win anymore. Or they are incredibly difficult because my allies force fights when unnecessary that even if the enemy has no skill at the game, they become so unbelievably fed to that point that them being worse no longer matters. They just have to push a button and make me explode (#no outplay/counterplay). There is no middle ground.

And it bothers me because I am putting in the same amount of time and effort as I would in any other game, but I am receiving little LP for a victory and suffering massive losses for any defeat.

I'm going to tell you what you don't want to hear: sounds like your MMR is pretty low. I get it, it's frustrating, so many low elo matches feel completely lopsided due to random chance. But there is surely something you could improve on that would help you climb. It may be time to do some reflection on your playstyle and figure out just what that is.

Are you lacking in mechanics (e.g. poor cs)? Do you tend to overextend and get caught out? Do you itemize poorly? Do you pick bad fights? Do you tend to throw a lead, or fail to extend it to other parts of the map? Do you prioritize the wrong targets in team fights? Is your playstyle just not clicking with your current champion pool? Is it something else I forgot to mention?

I'm sure that if you take the time to dwell on it, you'll think of something you could improve on with practice and better awareness of your own playstyle (and its shortcomings). I know it's not what you want to hear, but there you have it.

My CS is above average. I reach about 200+ by no later than 30 in if laning, but I do not focus solely on CS. I haven't counted my jungle CS because I just farm what I need without bothering to track it. Tunnel Vision being a bad thing.

I've learned to ward where I am if I do not know where the enemy is and if I do know where they are to track their movements as I pursue an objective elsewhere.

I've changed tactics from building only one core to fitting it according to what I am facing from the opponents. For instance, the enemy may be a mix of AP and AD, but I build my defenses based on who targets me regularly and vice versa rather than trying to build to defend against everything.

As for leads, I never go after enemy champions unless one is a significant threat or exposed. I've long since stopped chasing enemies blindly. The satisfaction of one kill is not worth the risks involved.

I have a very extensive champion pool, but I focus only on a few champions within it so as to master their ins and outs.

These are things I've learned the hard way and these lessons are why I've managed to claw out of Bronze and remain in Silver this season.

Sounds like you're off to a great start. If you're winning more games than you lose, it may just be that your MMR hasn't caught up to your current level of play yet. It will with time.

There is almost no difference between Bronze and Silver.

There is a huge difference between Diamond and Master.
