So ADC's can apply grievous wounds at any time but...
mages have to get targets below 40% hp and are only applied by spells? while adc's reapply it every second

Riot is experimenting with how retarded they can be without losing their player base.
It's been a while since I've seen a hidden gem on the boards
a
lot
apparently.
I was honestly waiting for the "but graves can't have a cigar?"
I was too
Mages' spell is safer to land than aa from ADCs.

I'm sorry I couldn't hear you from the 850 range distance on my Jinx rocket with Rapid Fire.
^_^
mhmm, maybe what I have in mind is probably different than you guys' interpretations.
To me, Morellonomicon can be treated as a core item for mages to have and they get it very early due to cheap cost and efficiency. Last whisper & executioner is also cheaper, but it's not likely they'll grab that first in bot.
They can grab an early Executioner, but the stats aren't really that good and it applies grievious wound like Morell (at 40% HP). I still feel like marksmen need damage and AS than spending their hard-earned money on Executioner. I may be wrong because an AD top might grab early executioner vs Vlad, but as marksmen bot lane, I dont see spending money on executioner is worth.
The only problem I have with that right now is which it lasts for 5 seconds. That's a bit too long. Reading from you guys' statements of new Las Whisper (Mortal Reminder) is a late game problem. I think it's more effective vs LIFE STEAL than it does injustice on healing. It might give marksmen a bit too much control over healing champs, which their healings don't even scale that well to begin with.
People don't get this but you don't have to build the full item. If you're VS a Mundo you can just buy an Executioners Calling and sit on it all game. You just invalidated a champion for 1000 gold. Same goes for both Giant Slayer and Last Whisper.
To me this is the reason why ADCs are so broken on the PBE right now, they so many good component items and it makes it super easy for them to adapt their build.
jinx rocket rapid fire
Are you Trist or Jinx you can't be both at the same time.
Rapid Firecannon is the new ADC item that gives you extra range after charging up.
Bio-Arcane barrage can go even higher?
RIP
I'm sorry i couldn't hear you over your right click
P.S. why are they trying to gut
supp...
GW won't affect heals from other sources anymore, only self-healing.
Do you have a scourse for this? I'd like to take a look.
That's still bad for Raka, she kills herself then can't heal up properly.
If enemy ADC is hitting you when you're Soraka, you're positioned really poorly. Also, Soraka has her ult in case she gets a GW on her.

The Happening
Also, GW reduce healing by 40% instead of 50%
I expected a "So ADC's can apply grievous wounds at any time but... graves cant have a ciggar" not dissapointed. This is better
I came into this thread looking for "Graves can't have a cigar"
.
.
I am quite disappointed
Because being shot to the face makes you bleed and get really grievous wounds, unlike getting hit by magic Kappa
so
doesn't give paper cuts?
Um... Only when playing AD ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
LOL ok
well most mages take the arcane blade mastery and gw is applied on magic damage, not spell damage. and honestly adding grievous wounds is a better thing for the game. it takes away the case of ad champions being so far ahead that you cant even 1v5 them because you are to far behind to burst them, and they will just lifesteal up all the damage you dealt, becuase now, when they are that far ahead, you can have someone build EC and the damage you deal to them sticks. the only problem with EC is the balancing around champions like
,
,
, etc. where some of their power budget is spent on that sustain, and when they have GW on them, they are strictly worse than other champions that have similar roles. but once you re-tune these champions for the easy access to GW, there really isnt a problem, and it is going to lead to a better game
By retune, I assume you mean rework. Only possible way to retune them back into relevancy is to make their sustain ignore GW. Doesnt matter how they adjust the numbers on the sustain, it will always be crippled by GW.
Honestly, Riot is next level retarded in the way they implemented this. The application of GW should have been an active effect that lasts for a short window of time with a cooldown. This way, smart players who deserve to win can use it to skillfully shutdown problematic sustain, while other skillful players can take advantage of the actives downtime and utilize the strength of their sustain. Instead its an 800g purchase-and-forget item for brainless sheep. That seems to be who riot caters to these days.

No because if these champions are tuned around Grevious Wounds and you DON'T build EC (Mordekaiser bot, tanky champion so you pick Giant Slayer instead, ADC disconnects from the game) then those champions are overtuned.

DIsclaimer: Arcane Blade Mastery may or may not stop existing in Season 6.
I believe EC used to give GW when the enemy is under a certain amount of HP. Not anymore I guess.
Capt Obvious here: EC hasn't been in the game for a long time. But you already knew that.
They had a couple of variations on it. One had it as an active ability, while another just gave it on all auto-attacks. No one was buying it anyway.
How often is a mage going to try and AA someone? I can't think it's common.
depends on the mage. XD
But
can't have a cigar?
Fixed that for ya my friend =]
I know this is a circle jerk thread but my guess is this: Theres two things that Greivous wounds affect; Tanks and ADCs. ADCs are easily blown up from near full health (by most mages), and Tanks aren't supposed to be blown up by mages from full health(again, generally). But if they're already below 40%, then it'd be lame to let Mundo with Spirit Visage heal up to 100 WHILE you're casting at him.
ADC's are pretty much the designated tank and tower killer, so them having access to greivous wounds makes sense. And even with the item, I doubt teams are gonna be telling Caitlyn to focus down Shen.
Lastly, mages are so completely different from each other, it's super difficult to make items that are balanced for all of them (Spellvamp for instance; a stat that when tweaked wrong doesn't affect Diana much but makes Vladimir insane). If morellos worked on spell casts against targets at any health percentage, some mages would be_ constantly applying it to your entire team_ which would be wrong.
GW hurts Fighters more than any other class. Champs like Darius Nasus Trundle aren't inherently tanky and rely on replenishing HP during a fight if they want to be useful, and in ADC metas they are already bad to begin with because they get kited, can't initiate or peel for their ADC the way a tank can, and can't get rid of the opposing ADC the way an assassin can, there becomes no reason to pick them. Adding full time GW in an upcoming ADC meta is just going to put fighters back into the trash bin.
Okay, well my point still stands, who's supposed to kill Darius, Trundle and Nasus? Mages have cooldowns on their damage, and a large part of their killing potential usually relies on their ultimates. AD Carries kill with auto attacks, and will burn down these juggernauts with consistent damage.
For all intents and purposes Darius Trundle and Nasus are tanks that trade CC for incredible damage. These are far more problematic than standard tanks because unlike Shen you can't ignore them in a fight once they blow their CC. Currently, Darius is considered OP, and Nasus singlehandedly ends games (at a certain point).
Being kited is supposed to be a weakness ( a weakness they can eventually work around with Items), and theres always going to be a reason to pick these champs (To lane bully, counter other melee carries, and farm stacks until you can one shot towers, respectively).
Honestly, never considered it. Never felt it was that hard to burst a squishy down below 40%. Granted, that could just be my experience, each persons being different. Meanwhile the ADCs go dueling and need something a bit more substantial.
shrugs
but at least ADCs auto-attacks cost mana
But
can't have a cigar.
...but Graves can't have a cigar
I'd honestly be happier if they either removed Grievous Wounds or only had it applied on actives with decent cooldowns (Ignite or an item with a 60-90s cooldown).
Then they could re-balance healing affects to account for its absence.
....GRAVES CANT HAVE A CIGAR??
Sorry wrong thread
Not to mention they already have it for 800 gold. Something is clearly wrong here.
