Why is Ezreal allowed to lower his Ult CD if but Zilean can't?

Back when the Zil-meister got his kit retooled, they made it so his ULT couldn't be refreshed with his W anymore. The reasoning being that they had to basically make the CD ridiculously long to compensate for the fact he could do it, making it redundant.

Now, I understand how powerful his ult is, but under this reasoning, shouldn't a similar thing be done for Ezreal 's? Because shit gets stupid, especially on AP Ez. God forbid Blue Ezreal. "Shivers."

Give it a consistent CD. I cant count the amount of times, I killed him in lane and then he had it up by the time he revived in base and sniped me from there, even though I was thinking. "Nah, he JUST used it, it CAN'T POSSIBLY be up yet."

This would make playing around him more consistent overall.

Because then optimal gameplay for Zilean would be spamming W whenever your ult is on cooldown, which isn't very fun. It used to work that way, and when they changed W to only affect Q and E they lowered Chronoshift's cooldown by a lot (it used to be 180 seconds/3 minutes at all ranks).

And optimal play with Ezreal is the same since he reduces all his CD's when he hits a spell. What's the difference here?

The difference is you want to be constantly landing Ezreal's Q anyway since it's his primary damage spell, whereas Zilean doesn't normally have a reason to spam Rewind on cooldown outside of combat.

The difference is what happens when there's no enemies around.

Because late game zileans ult is on a 30 sec cooldown and his w is on a 3-5 sec cd ( i don't remember which)...so basically he would have his ult every 10 seconds....That is why. and you're exaggerating. HIs ult is not up that soon, especially if you killed him and he "just used it in that fight and then he used it from base" doesn't work like that.

No it wasn't. It is NOW because of the change. Back then it has like a 3 minute CD to compensate for his W. Read the post.

As someone who plays Zilean often, the CD of his Ult didn't really change. Before the update, if you pressed W off cooldown late game you got it back in about 30 seconds more or less. They just changed it so you didn't have to spam W constantly to have a good uptime ult.

But, your post misses one thing, and that is Ezreal needs a target to lower his Ult Cooldown, Zilean did not, which is why they have it as is (I'm assuming)

Hmm. that's in interesting point. However, the target doesn't need to be a champion, which is pretty obnoxious. I dunno. it is effectively the same thing but on a skillshot that applies on hit effects. Some kind of restriction could be in order at the very least.

Read what I said. Ez ult isn't up that much you are exaggerating. Don't exaggerate if you want to be taken seriously

Neither was Zilean's ultimate. What I am asking about is making ti consistent, which it isn't, which make sit pretty impossible to play around in that regard for both parties involved.

You mention why in your post. Zilean's is really powerful compared to Ezreal's. Then you go on to compare it to AP ezreal which is a very valid point because I have haed games where the first hit of my ult would do enough damage to kill a full health adc. That being said I was also stupidly far ahead and had mejai's fully stacked at 15ish minutes. It's not super common an AP ezreal will really be at the point where their ult is as game changing as Zilean's can be because AP ezreal is very easy to beat in lane and pretty hard to get going. Also it is very rare to see and AP ezreal these days.

I was following you up to this point. LOL no AP Ez Mid has been at an all time high ever since Season 6 started. xD

I haven't seen a single AP Ezreal (except for the one that went bot lane and got destroyed), so to me it doesn't seem to me like there are really any xD

Because Ezreal's ult is less powerful and he actually has to hit something to lower its cooldown.
