Riven tips

Hey guys,

I've been wanting to play Riven lately but haven't done so because I don't feel confident. Last season when I played her occasionally I was able to do well, but since this season started I haven't. I know the Q+AA+Q+AA combo with a possible other Q+AA to get her passive damage off (unless that's not how you do it), and try to fit a stun in there, use dash to get out of sticky situations.

Lately when I've played against her (haven't in awhile), it always seems like the Riven is able to out damage me or poke better than I can with her. Is there a secret way to play her? What builds are best and what match ups are in her favor? Any help is appreciated!

While being relatively easy to pick up, Riven has a deceptively high skill ceiling. I can't give you too many specifics, since I'm not a Riven player (never played her in my life), but to my understanding a lot of Riven's damage comes out of proper animation cancelling, so you should practice cancelling her animations if you don't do that (or don't do that well) already.

And now time to give the answer that a salty Riven hater would give: don't play Riven :P

I've learned how to play high skill ceiling champs, and this one I want to learn too. I just suck with her at the moment, lol.
