@Riot Games - No More VGU? The Real Reason Why.

I think the majority of us have just come to the conclusion that you just don't care about your game anymore. You make ridiculous comments saying you don't want to do more VGU or want to even entertain doing MVGU on older champions, because you feel like the game is changing too much. The reality is you made big changes to the game but are using the poor choices you made as an excuse to go back on your promises. You said it would be more VGU vs new champions. The community spent their time and dedication to do your survey and tell you there are too many champions in the game and not enough is being worked on. We told you this. It looks to us that you just are using the recent changes to the GAME as an excuse to not even entertain doing any work on champions.

They don't have modernized art, themes and some even need modernized kits of what we expect for today. They do not match new champions, they don't feel like the current iteration of your themes and art styles, and some champions kits just feel clunky and outdated. This is your list of what, in reality, needs to be worked on. We can all sit here and debate what needs to be worked on and who should be worked on over others. The fact of the matter is we have almost half of the champion pool that needs actual work and you are prioritizing new champions.

If you look at all of these champions in game and really look at them, you will see they have severely outdated art, barely any VO and interactions with VGU and newer champions, don't really have a noticeable theme or represents themselves to the best of their character theme wise, and so much more. I mean, look at some of the coloring and textures on older models, they are a mess compared to what we are getting today.

I am not done yet though. The below champions are new ones who you have prioritized work on over actual work on your existing champions. Your newer champions, below this, now need prioritized reworks. Some of these champions need prioritized skins because you still have ignored them. These champions have kits that are either too strong, has too much going on in one kit, doesn't have enough counterplay, is weak or whatever else the problem is. You are now taking time away from something or someone else in the game to work on a newer champion's kit.

Seriously, look at the list below and look at the list of champions above this. Do you not understand what you are doing? This is especially the case if the community has already expressed to you there are too many champions in the game. No one wants to deal with a champion that can one shot me from across the map, phase through walls, pick up summoner spells. We want our existing champion pool that we have fallen in love with over the years, to become modernized and look it.

You prioritized 4 reworks/mini VGU on Ryze and you have now prioritized a MVGU on Ezreal because he is popular. What is your excuse for doing the work necessary to bring the first list of champions to the same place your new champions and Ryze/Ezreal? There always seems to be an excuse but I call BS on your recent excuse:

  1. Reworking runes and refusing to nerf damage for almost the entire year of 2018.
  2. Nerfing ADC and other roles to constantly create a negative player experience with unwanted metas.
  3. Reworking minion health and last hitting.
  4. Allowing other champions to go into botlane and other roles.
  5. Scuttle Crab.

So essentially your excuse is there was too much change this season, but that was YOUR decision to do that when no one asked for it. We asked for ADC to be slightly nerfed, but you took them out of the game. We asked for JGlers to stop camping lanes and not actually JGling, but you implemented a useless Scuttle Crab buff that made early game JGlers the only relevant champions. NO ONE ASKED FOR THIS. You changed the GAME too much and too quickly. You lost way too many players because of this alone.

In reality, you are very cheap, refuse to hire more help, and are too stubborn to work on what actually needs to be worked on. This is the God's honest truth Riot. You sitting here and telling us you cannot afford to do anymore VGU because it costs too much, what do you think you are doing then? You make skins and content for the same champions every single year. You can barely keep up with the current champion pool and create skin and content for them. You can barely even balance the game, meta and itemization around the current pool of champions. We are telling you to stop adding more champions into the game. We are telling you to work on what we already like about the game and make it amazing. You don't even have to give these champions a massive rework. You need to give them the same reason you think you are giving Ezreal a MVGU, they have outdated models and just are not up to your standards of art, thematic and kits for today.

Your expectations that the community is just going to have to wait because new champions are more important, is gone. You need a serious reality check Riot. You can barely keep up with the current batch of champions and you want to add more new champions into the game. News flash, you cannot do it.

Riot has specifically stated that they are focusing more on VGUs this season than new champions, and next season will likely be the same.

As for that Janna concept, that was made before the artist worked at Riot games, and he's not even in the Champions or Updates team, he's a concept artist. Just because someone drew a 2d image doesn't mean it instantly can be converted into a champion update.

No. They said they are doing the same amount of new champions vs VGU. It will be 50/50 again. They already have 5 new champions coming out within the next 6 months.

I know a lot of people are going to disagree with me but here is a prime example:

Actual Riot employee did this. It will never happen when we have a Development team that prioritizes work on new champions. If everyone else wants a reality check, we will have 160 champions around May of Next year. That is 160 champions that Riot will still be able to balance the game around, create skin for, and so much more.

What? LEL. When did they EVER say that? They said they were focusing more on VGUs than new champions hence why we've had seldom new releases this year and many more updates.

A lot of what you listed there have had changes over time and are quite fine. There are far worse picks out there that NEED updating not all of those.

I mean, they're updating Nunu, Ez, Kayle/Morgana, and have updated Akali and Aatrox already this year. Meanwhile we have one new champ in Kai'Sa and one confirmed addition coming soon.

VGUs: 3 (+1)

Mini-VGUs: (+2)

New champs: 1 (+1)

That's 6 rework projects to 2 new champions. I'd say they're sticking to what they told us.
