I think Vladimir ulti is his problem

Vladimir was average as a champion, then destroyed because of LCS due to his ulti

what if his ulti infects an AOE amplifying damage enemies take in it while still dealing damage to them after 4 seconds? that way if enemies leave the area they can remove the damage amplfication

of course after this, we can finally buff vladimir to a healthy state

Vlad's ult is definitely his problem.

Make it selfish (only affecting Vlad), then buff the amp or base/ratio to compensate. Probably a better way to go about it; he'll end up useless anyway with your suggestion.

Its his team's use of the ult, not the amp being on them in regards to Vlad.

A champion that's supposed to be a hypercarry like Vlad cannot have such a powerful tool for his team. You can't balance a hypercarry properly around that.

Selfish hypercarries are healthy hypercarries.

he's the only one in the game that can amplify damage of allies

he'll end up useless? the way i see his ulti is it would amplify damage by 16 or 18% but only in an area, while still dealing damage to enemies that were caught in the initial area

useless? he would only be good with wombo combo teams that can force people to stay in an area like with galio or amumu, or against kindred since everyone will stay in his ulti we gotta give niche to people

{quoted} Selfish hypercarries are healthy hypercarries.

MasterYi lmao it's the opposite

You're better off having a team-wide damage amp on some sort of offensive support or something if you want that niche somewhere.

When I play Vlad, I'm never picking him for the damage amp. I'm playing him for what he can do as a champion. The team damage amp isn't even a factor for me. I ghost in, ult, then try to kill/keep the carries low enough that R pops them.

The amp could be completely removed and my Vlad gameplay would not change, nor would anyone else's. **That's how you know its a bad 'niche' to keep shoving on him. ** His performance doesn't change based on how successfully that 'niche' is used. Its more based upon the heal he gets or the damage he deals himself in most cases...which is why its not actually a niche of his at all.

His ult is just one of his problems in competitive.

The other one, possibly even bigger, is how much strength he gains in composition that can cast multiple speed-ups on him - something he can reliably get in competitive, but not in solo queue.

That being said, he probably could use some cautious buffs after Rylai's got gutted.

A Vlad with speed-ups cast on him is no different than a Juggernaut with them. Not really an issue if a team is literally being built around a champion.

Nobody would say a "Protect the Kog" comp makes Kog'Maw a balance issue.

Cautious buffs? He's the lowest win-rate top-laner now. He could use some substantial buffs.

#The only thing they should be cautious about is anything that affects tank builds:

  • Base damage

  • HP->AP ratio on passive

  • HP ratio on Q

  • HP ratio on W

  • HP ratio on E

Anything else is fair game and very, very likely would not push Vlad too far. There's very little Riot could do with minor balance adjustments that would push him up more than 7% in win-rate, which would only barely put him under 50% win rate.

However, competitive would pick him up the moment he's able to even barely function solely due to what his ult offers and how safe he can be.

His ult is the core of every one of his issues because his only issues are the tank build and the fact that Riot doesn't like seeing him as a competitive staple.

There is crucial difference. Vlad is ranged. You can't shut him down the way you could a juggernaut, if team built around them.

what if NO WHAT IFS

gg

Ok sure but why1 votes

he could just get increased spell vamp against targets affected by his ult instead of healing a flat amount from each one
