Anybody else get irked by the "LCS Outlaws Bundle"?

Shadow Gilgamesh··70 votes·6,751 views

Like, when I saw it and the description it really comes off as "here's the problem squad, all in one convenient package!"

People have been complaining about 4 of the 5 champs in that bundle for months now (though Liss ALSO got some praise, but only as being the counter to Zed) and have received love taps from the balance team as "nerfs" and now they're just like, "people think that these champs are Freelo, time to cash in!" Rumble is about the only one in the bundle people haven't been mad about and that's because he's a strong team player, not a soloq champ

Lol they're not even trying to hide how they're leaving cancer strong for the sake of a high mobility LCS any more. It should be called the "fuck you volibear bundle".

Haha oh my god my sides

They should make that a whole series. The "Fuck you, X" bundles, where every champion in it hard counters or purely outshines champ X.

I call it the "cancerous champs bundle".

And a bait to attract blind LB fanboys.

It's actually really funny.

Riot KNOWS people come on here and complain about #LC$BIGPLAYS and what do they do? SHOVE IT IN THE PLAYER BASES' FACES

Well played.

You're a fool if you think this vocal bunch of crybabies represents the entire playerbase.

I've seen people who watch the LCS get more excited for the troll picks than they do for the real ones.

I'm pretty sure they just thought it would be a cool bundle to do. They just took the most banned champs in LCS and put them in a bundle. Harmless fun.

I'm also pretty sure Riot is not one hive mind and that the Marketing department was just trying to make an attractive skin bundle that players could enjoy. Whatever your opinion on these champions' power level, the Marketing team has nothing to do with it.

not a starburst4 votes

I'm not opposed to the bundle itself. The bundle is fine. The fact that these champions are notorious enough for being banned in the LCS often enough and long enough to warrant their own bundle is very telling, though.

Surprised that Lee Sin isn't in there. Shouldn't the team include:

LeeSin Thresh

They haven't been getting banned, so they aren't "LCS Outlaws".

I feel like more than anything, this bundle was their way of telling us that they don't care about our opinions and are more concerned with LC$ and making money.

It was like a massive kick to the balls to anyone who was actually trying to think of ways and present suggestions for how to solve some major balance issues that Riot was ignoring.

Let's not forget, they are a business in a capitalist economy. If you ever thought their main concern was anything other than money, you were the one making the mistake.

Ultimately the bundle itself seems ok, it's nice that it includes a good legacy skin.

As for the champions itself, it's more or less reading to me right now as 'Here are the contenders for Victorious and Championship skins for this year.'

Got to remember though a few of these champs saw some nerfs recently: Lissandra and Leblanc in particular with their ap scaling and damage output.

That being said there's one champ in this bundle in particular that is in dire need of a nerf. Im looking at youZed. The problem isnt really anything to do with zed's ult, or damage ouput, in my opinion.

My main problems with zed are:

  • He's a safer laner than you are
  • He has better wave clear then you do
  • He can regain energy faster than he can spam q
  • everytime you're nearing six you fear the dreaded 'HUHUHUHUHUHUH' before he tower dives you and 100-0's you before you can touch him/the tower can react.

And if we remember a few posts back i think it was freak talking about the LCS, he mentioned "You play a champ because they're bullshit." not because you enjoy them. Currently JarvanIV is bullshit because of hit ult doing damage on cast and that dragon strike at early levels. Zed is bullshit for reasons above. Rumble is bullshit in the hands of a skilled user because of his cd's and output (though ill admit, losing to a good rumble doesnt feel like ive lost. It's rewarding in some cases.) Lissandra is bullshit because of lane phase and her lockdown potential, though she's being praised as being a counter to Riots pet: Zed. Leblanc is bullshit because she can fly around the map and any combo of hers is going to hurt like a mother.

Though im really surprised that MUH SKILLSHOT LeeSin isnt in there. I mean he's the sole reason Elise was gutted to utter trash tier because she could out jungle him. Good thinking Riot, give her the victorious skin then make her utter trash because she's better than your pet dog.

Junkο5 votes

Lissandra got 5 damage nerf per rank in her Q, LeBlanc is losing 5% AP Ratio on ult, aka at 1k AP she loses 50 damage, without counting that she never buys that much AP (idk if it's even possible) and without taking MR into account.

If these are nerfs for you, then Zed also got nerfed when they love tapped his base AS

Rumble is too strong once you figure him out though.

A manaless short CD champ that gets higher damage if you can keep his bar between half full and full who then proceeds to build sorcerer's shoes, crystal scepter and liandry's torment for massive ammounts of % health damage on top of his base damage while doing nearly true damage because of having around 40 MR pen with runes, torment and sorcerer's shoes. Then Builds Horuglass or Void staff both of which provide a lot of damage.

Honestly Riot can we please have some godly AD Bruiser items like Torment and Crystal scepter that also happen to stack well with each other?

And yes Crystal scepter and Torment are Bruiser items. You never see them on someone like LeBlanc or Xerath. You always see them on AP bruisers/tanks like Vlad, Rumble and Singed.

junglerboy163 votes

BotRK and FM say hi! permanent sticking a DPS without needing crits, they are pretty much the same as Rylai's and Liandry's, just you don't need FM to make BotRK deal damage.

aaronconlin1 votes

Those are the AD counterparts but I think he meant something with more synergy, like Liandry's and Rylai's (Liandry's passive doubling against CCed targets, Rylai's CCing on spell damage)

junglerboy162 votes

My point is that BotRK and FM don't even need that synergy because they are strong independently.

lojician5 votes

Rumble's counterplay should be to all in him when he's at low heat. But they've managed to screw over all the other top laners harder than him since his nerf so he's cyclically back to being a lane bully vs melee again.

Junkο1 votes

You can actually all in Rumble when he has almost fully filled heat(aka 80- 90), he either takes free damage or silences himself so he can't escape in case he still cannot fight you.

lojician1 votes

I'm talking early laning phase. You really shouldn't be able to out-auto him while he's overheated with a flamethrower going.

Junkο1 votes

Rumble's laning phase is fairly weak before level 4, at level 4 he gains a huge spike though. It's especially weak at levels 1-2 when he doesn't have all his abilities so his heat is low most of the time.

Fun fact. League of Legends is a team game. With ... you know ... a team. Supports can roam to deal with these. Jungle can help deal with these. It's not like Rumble has all that damage and still as mobile as LeBlanc lol. It's entirely possible to shut him down. Everyone always cries for "balance" but they never stop to consider that counterplay can actually involve team play ... in this ... you know ... team game?

You're right. It is okay for a champion to be absurdly broken, because sometimes the rest of the team is really bad and they might lose. That's counterplay. Totally.

It's okay for a champion to be completely useless because sometimes the rest of the team is really good and they might still win. That's counterplay. Totally.

B/c communicating with the team and building comps and strategies is an impossibility. At the highest level ... you see that these champs do in fact have weaknesses. It is your own fault that you do not take advantage of said weaknesses. You instead seek to blame it on "balance". All the new changes to vision make it completely possible to track enemy jungle movements both early and late game. But again ... instead of first trying to use tools provided to make sure an "op" doesn't take over a game ... you just assume it will happen ... and then roll over and play dead. Then you come to the forums, jump on the "fuck you rito balance team" and piss and moan. Totally effective.

But all of that vision and everything is something that both sides have access too, while the champion that is overpowered has all the extra stuff that comes with the kit. Something shouldn't be balanced around "is it possible for this champion to be shutdown at all?" but instead should be balanced around having clear strengths and weaknesses. The "weakness" to vision applies to every champion, so it shouldn't be the thing that is seen as their main weakness, because they will then still have a leg up on everyone else.

Kassadin has been banned way more than those champions. Why isn't he in the bundle? http://lol.gamepedia.com/2015_EU_LCS_Spring/Scoreboards/Round_Robin/Overview http://lol.gamepedia.com/2015_NA_LCS_Spring/Scoreboards/Round_Robin/Overview

Go ahead, sort by bans. Kassadin is in the top 3 in both lists. Kassadin is banned more often than Zed, period.

Junkο1 votes

Probably because he counters Zed with his ultimate. He can easily countergank Zed when he roams, and his ultimate makes Zed's ultimate worthless unless he roams, his Q also eats Zed's passive damage, which actually reduces the power of Zed's trading by quite a fair bit.

He also counters all the anti-mobility picks like Veigar or Lissandra.

KaisadiIIa2 votes

Kassadin doesn't counter him. Actually, Zed has an easy lane against Kassadin.

His ultimate is not a "counter", he can escape from Zed like he can escape from everyone.

Junkο1 votes

Zed needs to get kills to snowball, but early game he is entirely reliant on his ult to get kills unless you decide to eat his WEQs and standing in the middle of the minion wave so he can farm at the same time. Also i noticed a lot of people love staying in lane with 200 health and expect to not get killed, just don't do that.

SpecterVonBaren1 votes

Well now I am that it's causing people to lump Rumble in with champs like Zed and LB and calling him OP when he's perfectly fine.

PerishSoftly1 votes

I'm gonna be honest, I HATE Rumble. I feel like for a mana-less champ his window of weakness is way too small. His flamethrower has something like a 40% uptime and does some pretty horrific damage while also not proccing minion aggro, he can shield away a crap ton of harass, and his base damage is high enough to justify rushing MPen items that make fighting against him even harder. You can't push him out of lane easily, you can't trade with him easily, and it's crazy hard to shut him down.

Big Bang Bob1 votes

There's nothing wrong with laughing at a problem. As long as you still fix it.

Not going to take a stance on these guys op status though, besides the fact that the only reason I know they're op is because people say they are.

I bought the bundle! Im glad it came out. Becuase i really wanted Ravenborn LeBlanc (one of my fav skins in the game now!)

And also got me to playing Rumble. Whos pretty damn fun.
