Irelia Attack Range

It makes sense that can control her blades telepathically, thus gaining attack range. However, it doesn't make sense that carries a long AF spear with the capacity to cleave through any enemy and have less range. Theres so many times where I needed that last hit on an enemy and the range of his auto cancels because they're just out of range. JUST THRUST THE SPEAR. ITS SO LONG!
