@Meddler As someone who enjoys playing Soraka, can you stop making Grievous Wounds abundant?

Executioner's Calling applies Grievous wounds with any form of physical damage for 3s.

Morellonomicon applies Grievous Wounds with any form of magical damage, including items, for 3s.

Mortal Reminder applies Grievous Wounds with any form of physical damage for a whopping 5s.

Bramble Vest and Thornmail applies Grievous Wounds for 3s when receiving an auto-attack.

Now we have Duskblade of Draktharr that will also apply Grievous Wounds for 5s, except this time it is conditional, requiring the proc of Nightstalker.

That's how it should be when applying Grievous Wounds. It shouldn't be so easy to apply with an auto attack or an aoe ability. You changed Quicksilver Sash so that it didn't negate the most important part of a champion's kit, yet you have Grievous Wounds incredibly easy to access and apply, hurting champions like Mundo, Soraka, Aatrox, Vladimir (even though he's really strong atm but that's not what this is about) and to a lesser extent, Darius, Singed, Warwick and Zac.

Yes, Grievous Wounds needs to exist to keep these champions in check. As someone with 1.5mil points on Soraka, I absolutely hate Grievous Wounds, but I don't disagree with it either and know it is necessary. But I also don't think Grievous Wound should be so effortless and easy to apply. Duskblade is the perfect example of how Grievous Wounds should be handled. Shutting down a champion so easily with just one item against them is a horrible feeling, especially when all they have to do is invest 800g into an Executioner's Calling to shut down a champion.

If you're going to make it so easy to apply, at least make it a stacking debuff, reducing healing by 10% per stack, up to 4 stacks with a 3s duration, each 3s reducing the stack by one instead of removing it altogether. This way it is much healthier to play with and against, without instantly reducing a champion to half of what they are.

Most of the new champions have some sort of healing or self-healing, or a lifesteal item is part of their core build. They need to stop giving so much safety, and then removing grievous wounds won't be a problem.

Riot keeps creating their own balance problems with these ridiculously safe abilities.

Dont forget the 5+ ignites in every game

I hate that you can apply GW onto champions like Mundo and he still can heal for 125 per half-second. Some champs have such oppressive healing that buying GW is almost a waste.

It was 50%, now its 40%. That was the tradeoff. Honestly I still hate playing against Soraka and selfhealers even with the wounds.

Grievious wounds is not so bad for soraka. It's definetetly a thing but if you can spec into some AP or time your healing well (aka before someone recieves damage if they are already hurt or after GW expires on them) you can do fine.

Without grivieous wounds healing champs could end up too strong.

If you're ahead you must have noticed how strong soraka's healing is, especially if you pick barrier (almost immortal).

I think right now enchanters are in a good spot, especially if damage gets nerfed this upcoming season which i think it is

I would kill for an adc to know mortal reminder exists. I get it on my champs but they don't and then complain....

Can we make LifeSteal capped at 20%?

Emperør Rhaast11/6/2019, 8:15:44 PM1 votes

Kayn main checking in here, and lots of the times it feels absolutely awful to play as Rhaast; all the enemy team needs to do is take one glance at your build after jungle item and know what form you're going, and pre-emptively building grievious wounds to shut you down.

I completely agree with your post. There is too much grievious wounds in the game, and it's too easy to apply. In Rhaast's particular case, it completely shuts down what he wants to do - disrupt a team fight, using the insane healing he gets from his spells to stay alive in the process. After griev wounds you can really only go in and cc a few people before dying because your healing is cut. It feels awful to play against for heavy healing champions.

Self healing is an issue in the game, healers are not but in order to control self healers, support healers suffer. Which is probably 'shielding/healing power' stat even exists in the first place as it's design to boost Enchanters powers and counter GW. You can get 40% healing power and it does is make it so you are healing at the normal rate vs GW. :P

I don't know if GW is too abundant, too easy to proc, but what I do know is that every time I play Sion and the enemy pics Fiora I just go "ok" and build a Bramble Vest and now she doesn't heal anymore. So take that as you will

Weexazys11/6/2019, 1:30:39 PM1 votes

The problem is. For AP champions buying a morello feels like nothing because its abundant in stats, its not just a GW item. AD champions are sacrificing a build path for GW, for example as a Riven player laning vs Mundo or Vlad is detrimental because i need to buy AD and Pen to do enough damage because of stuff like item 3191 and item 3047 plus i need magic resist because they get to spam me all laning phase AND i need to invest 800g into item 3123 because otherwise the damage i deal will serve for nothing and just be healed away...

Would like to note that bramble vest/thornmail only provides grievous wounds for one sec after being attacked by an auto. It's probably one of the most fair forms of GW, as it specifically inhibs auto-attack reliant champs.
