Auto-attack damage tooltip should show magic damage.

I never understood why it only shows attacks damage.

  • Currently if you have 100 AD your autoattack damage reads. "Your auto attack will do 100 points of damage."
  • If you purchase a Wit's End, the tooltip should read "Your auto attack will deal 100 points of **physical **damage and 40 points of magic damage."

It sucks how it never shows on-hit magic damage from items or passives or temporary buffs like from Ardent Censer.

While there should be an Autoattack Damage stat, and it would be quite interesting, Attack Damage is something different from Autoattack Damage. Attack Damage does influence autoattacks but also takes part in many ability scalings. They would need to make a separate tooltip for this but yeah nice idea.

It's because Attack Damage used to literally be Attack Damage years ago; all champion's offensive abilities had AP scalings, even if they were meant to be AD. This explains why old Sivir, old Tristana, old Sion, and old Yi used to have only AP scalings.

Riot however, changed that to allow abilities to also scale with attack damage and do physical damage just like auto-attacks, but the names are still here.
