Karma?

Its rather frustrating how strong her early game is. She doesnt really need her ult at level 1. I find that with champions that have their lv 1 ults early are usually iconic and make sense. At least lore/gameplay wise? Elise . She is a spider lady, makes sense right? Nidalee , cougar of the jungle. Again, makes sense. I dont know, i find it over bearing and also a little too oppressive. This isnt really a qq karma thread, its more of "what are your thoughts on karmas kit currently and how well it fits in her identity"

She needs her ult early on because she falls off late game. Just like Elise Nidalee Jayce they all fall off late game. One thing to point out though, Karma only has 3 skills, not 6 like the others do. Seeing her stats in any champion statistic sites, she goes up early to mid, but just nose dives downward, and I mean REALLY nose dives, when it comes to late game, just like the three champions. They're like Nunu, Shaco, and Lee, they prevent you from gaining a lead in the early game, but in return the trade-off is late game power ( I think I'm being repetitive >.< Sorry)

Her Damage falls of late, But that ult e shield is disgustingly powerful lategame.

I hate the 6.6 patch buff, so I understand. This next nerf to her shield is almost a revert, just waiting for them to also change the ratio back to 0.6 to 0.3 on her ult E.

When they reworked her they wanted her ult to be a high uptime weak ability and that meant it couldn't ever really be comparable to the level 6/11/16 of another champion, particularly supports who typically have very impactful level 6 spikes. I'm pretty sure that's why she has it at 1 - so she can have a very strong pre-6 lane to make up for being mediocre after that. It can feel a bit weird both for Karma and the person she's against from experience, but they would likely need to rework her ult somewhat if they decided to lock it at the same level that every other champion gets theirs, and having an ult at level 1 is pretty much the only thing Karma has going for her in terms of uniqueness so I'm not sure removing it would be a great idea before you talk about anything else.

Karma can definitely feel oppressive early but she does become noticeably less frightening after 6 so it does balance out somewhat.

If Karma didn't have Mantra at level 1 they would have to buff its effects on her abilities in a significant way otherwise she would suck. As a champion, currently she has to play against the clock (especially as a midlaner), because after mid game she falls off pretty damn hard. Unless the enemy team is all squishies her RQ blast gets countered quite badly by health and MR stacking since all of her consistent damage is loaded into that ability.

As far as her gameplay identity and such, it feels half finished. I love the visual design, quotes, and lore which give her a great identity but none of her abilities have gameplay or visual effects that imply her connection to the spirit world which feels like a missed opportunity. Her current state really is just a product of Riot not having a devoted rework team at the time since she was the first complete rework ever done.

The problem here is that karma doesn't have a true identity to fit. Nothing about her says 'Duchess of Ionia' or 'The enlightened one' anymore. Her pre-reworked had identity. As you could see her using her fans to often wave at herself while people would pass by or seek to help. I still do like the reworked karma, pre 5.10 when she lost her damage, but her reworked self lost any way of saying 'Karma'. Everything just seems like a miss placed magic trick right now.
