This just doesn't make any sense to me, how can a full tank rammus be both the teams carry in damage, and the tank. Literally a full TANK BUILD. item 1409 item 3009 item 3075 item 3742 item 3143 item 3026

You're telling me that someone can build full tank and still out damage everyone, and carry the entire match. What are you supposed to do? You have to focus him because he literally steam rolls into your back line and kills them just be standing there, so you can't NOT focus him but if you DO focus him then the other team has 4 other players to hop on you for kills. It's literally a lose lose situation. Same ting happened with Xin zhao, he only built item 3078 item 3153 for damage the rest was item 3111 item 3143 item 3065 but with this build he both tanked a tower by himself, destroyed that tower from full hp to nothing, and while tanking the tower and destroying it he was also being hit by a full miss fortune ult, the MF had over 350 damage at that point in the game and had item 3033 with 50% crit chance too. This xin destoryed a full hp tower on his own, tanked it, tanked the mf ult, and had over half his health afterward, he wasn't even dented. He then proceeded to kill the mf that was there in about 3 or 4 hits. I mean the FK how is this possible balanced?

How can a tank, be a damage carry, while having no damage based items??? Except for thornmail? Really a tank buys one item and all of sudden it can kill anyone in its path? Rammus sometimes had over 200 damage and 43 ability power. A full tank just naturally scales that much damage? Why would they scale that much anyway?

I'm sorry but honestly that can't possibly be balanced it can't be. Our team counter built and still lost 50% hp whenever they tried to kill rammus. Its bullshit it honestly is. A tank should not how nearly that much damage out put nor a taunt that forces key enemy champs to only hit him, its just bullshit. Please someone explain to me how that isn't broken.

Because building around his Ability and his W damage helps him actually fight extended battles.

Yes but why is he even given the chance to do so? A tank by definition is a role where you do as such, tank the hell outa the enemies attacks. Usually tanks have lots of defense and usually some cc. But why on earth would we give them that much damage output? Makes no sense

Mundo is a fighter, not a tank. Specifically, he is a juggernaut.

The amount of damage in this game is too damn high, no matter what position.

To be fair about the rammus, he's an anti carry who gets AD for building armor.

Yes but why? That's like having an marksmen gain armor and magic resist for having attack damage. its a double standard, tanks get super high scaling so they can out damage/out last the enemy team while killing everyone? You always see these, ap builds with health, ad builds with armor, passive stacks builds mr and ap, tons of champs have broken scaling that makes no sense. For example Kennen has some of the fastest attack speed and attack damage scaling but his entire kit is designed around his abilities and only the passive on his W has anything to do with his melee damage, why would he scale that much in an area that has nothing to do with his kit? Ugh league balancing makes 0 sense.

Rammus has armor scalings on some of his abilities, he can force you to autoattack him and thus take damage, he has an AOE damaging ability that takes effect over a long duration and the tankiness to survive a while in combat to let the damage go off.

I understand where is damage comes from Im asking WHY he has it in the first place. Why does he get CC, mobility, tons of defense, and then on top of all that damage to kill priority targets. I'm not questioning where the damage is coming from Im questioning why the damage is there at all, why is the champ designed to do that much damage.

He had it since beta. His abilities and kit has not change at all. Just some tweaks to his stats and the nerf of his taunt down to 2.25 sec max. (was 3 sec back before tenacity was introduced). { i really miss those times }

Now to answer why ... Rammus damage is needed for his jungle and defenses. He is a tank that is able to duel an AD champ 1v1 with an advantage. He was build with the idea of being that anti AD champion that reflect back damage.

And .. "why is the champ designed to do that much damage? " ... I could ask why several champions have a lot more damage plus other stuff on just one or two skills.

I need to ask ... did you have any armor? magic resist? health? If you answered no to any of these, you were going to be moderately damaged by him:

AD : His passive boost his AD by 25% of his armor. Rammus taunt (E) reduce his target armor and forces attack onto him. AP : His powerball (Q), and tremors (R) are AP. His defense ball curl (W) reflect back magic damage.

200 AD and 43 AP .... that not that much ... he could get higher amounts if the enemy team comp allows him. AP Rammus .. hehe

Rammus has several weaknesses including being poked, weak early game, and being very item dependent. Rammus depends on his team. He is a mid to late game champion. If you let him buy and build to counter your team, you are going to have a tough time trying to take him down. Even more so if he has a good team comp with him.

This game is not about balance. It is about tilting the scales from one side to the other and to build counter play on that shift. But it comes back to the team composition. Sure some champions take more of the spotlight, but they still need their team to come up on top.

Rammus' damage is primarily AoE, which tends to inflate damage dealt to champions during teamfights.

Rammus will be attacking squishy targets (so his damage will be unmitigated) while carries often have to hit the front-line (so their damage will be mitigated).

Carries tend to be focused down early in fights while tanks will often survive until the end nears. As such, tanks have far more time to deal damage in fights uninhibited.

Regarding Xin Zhao versus MF, it was just a poorly chosen fight. Miss Fortune is a teamfighting ADC whose main contribution is her ultimate while Xin Zhao specializes at dueling targets.

If you build some resistances, the damage dealt by most fighters and tanks will fall off rather heavily. Randuin's Omen, Spirit Visage and Guardian Angel are all fantastic options on carries to let you survive during fights.

There are a lot of reasons why all these do make sense.

"This just doesn't make any sense to me, how can a full tank rammus be both the teams carry in damage, and the tank." Because that doesn't make sense; Tank Rammus cannot be the carry in damage. Level 18 Rammus with Cinderhulk and ulting will only do 243 (+.3AP) per second for 8 seconds which is a fairly poor DPS rate that can easily be exceeded by carries, much less level 18 full build ones.

It's actually safe to just stop entertaining this idea right here and discard the rest of this discussion. So for the sake of brevity, and spare you from the essay I'll just cover the main problem.

The primary issue here is that your using one bit flawed reasoning that keeps cropping up. One player's performance in one game of League of Legends says nothing about the specific champion. Every champion in this game can be used to get ahead and absolutely run over the game and it's safe to say that is what happened. A player played well, gained advantages, and used them to grow their lead and ensure their win. That's all because it's far more likely than two mediocre junglers being somehow amazingly broken.
