@RIOT If I have Support as one of my preferred roles, why would you autofill my Duo there?

I was willing to play it, so why would you even consider autofilling someone who didn't want to be in the support role, into it?

Because the algorithm holds your selections in individual vacuums, not based on who prefers what in a 5 man pick.

If you pick mid/support, it prioritizes putting you Mid. It doesnt take into account what you team selected. Part of the reason autofill exists is so secondary support players dont get support every time. If it worked the way you described, no one would choose secondary support because it would basically mean playing primary support.

Because well ... Erhm ... There's this thing that .... Yeah not finding anything.

I feel like half the issues with with autofill would be solved if it simply was smart about it. I've seen way too many cases of one player getting autofilled to a role that was one of the selected roles of another.

Yeah, I don't get that. I had bot mid selected and got top, then I look at the supports role, and they are a top main. Wouldn't the logic be give me support and let them top?
