pairing with toxic players

(so maybe this should be under player behavior but wasn't 100% sure)

Don't know if it was just really bad luck, but could the game not pair me with someone i muted / reported just a few moments prior? Like i know toxic players are a problem regardless, but it would be lovely if i didn't finish a game with one, then get thrown right back into a new game with them less then a minute later.

I hate it when this happens. Upvoted

One of the reasons (from what ive read) is that if you couldn't get queued up with people you reported / blocked, the queues for ranked would be insane and unfair, and eventually no one would really be able to play.

But i think there should be some sort of time limit before you can play with them again, like a few hours before you can even potentially be queued together. It is really annoying, once i had the unfortunate experience of being in the same queue with a 3 man toxic premade 3 games in a row lol.

Well, at least, be unable to get be queued with someone you reported or muted for the next 5 games or something. During late night hours, chances are that you will be paired with the same people, especially in parties at flex Q.

Yea thats the worst.

My rule of thumb is waiting 10~15 minutes before re-queuing if I just got out of a game with a toxic player.

Doesn’t work. I’ve actually had the same asshole a day or two later and yes they are just as toxic.

For the next game it sure works. ILT was obviously talking about during the same day and for the next game. So don't twist that suggestion out of context. They never suggested it would work days later.

And for most people it does work days later, because most people are at low elo where player pools are much larger and it's statistically unlikely to get matched with the same player again. I've been playing league since 2011, and I've only been re-matched with a player whom I muted or reported maybe 5 times in all these years. It's not a common occurrence for most people. Plus if a player is that toxic then they probably lose more often and thus will fall in MMR and not be able to be matched with you again.

If you did then you're extremely unlucky and should either dodge queue, or take advantage of the opportunity to report them again and contribute to the case that Riot's behavior system is likely building against that player.

Believe it or not, Riot actually defends matching you with people who you have muted/reported. And they will ruthlessly punish you for not putting up with the same asshole 2,3 or even 4 times in a row. Believe me, I know, this account was ruthlessly banned fir 14 days, prior to the perma do to getting stuck with the same asshole over and over.

And about them defending just wait until their little amins see this. They will say that “it is cool to ruin you experience, to protect the extresmly few top teir players from people reporting them”.

Yes, they do defend that.

Actually, they don't punish you for not putting up with said players. They ruthlessly punish you for behaving toxically. If you don't react in a toxic manner to someone who behaves like an asshole then you will not be punished. Even if you don't put up with their idiocy in other ways, like muting them and ignoring them.

And about them defending just wait until their little amins see this. They will say that “it is cool to ruin you experience, to protect the extresmly few top teir players from people reporting them”.

That's definitely not what they say. Don't put words in other peoples' mouths like some kind of dirty politician.

you are still being a problem if you decided to afk or leave or int regardless if you got matched up with a toxic person or not. There are 3 other people to consider on your team, and if you can't be mature about it, then you deserve to get punished.

I feel for you, that situation sucks in the worst ways.

Unfortunately Riot has said that they won't implement such features because they would increase queue times at higher elos where the player pool is smaller.

Your best bet right now would be to wait 5 minutes to queue up for another game. By then the toxic dickbag will most likely have been matched with a different team and you will be safe from having them in your next game. Plus, a 5 minute break to stretch your legs and get sustenance / water or relieve oneself does wonders to reset tilt and helps you to have a better chance of having a fun time in your next game regardless of everything else.
