Who likes playing as Jinx?

You know, the one champion that kind of can out play you if you learn her in every way.

Every champ has his or her own ups and downs, I'm looking for Jinx's downs.

You see, even if she uses up all her mana, she still has her Q passive. But, what if? Just, what if she got some mana resorting items? Essence Reaver isn't bad and item 3042 is a very nice item. Just imagine if she got both. And just think of that 675 range she now has, not to mention the bonus damage and area damage are nice. Not as nice as Corki's ultimate, but it has its own perks. Not limited to needing a reload of limited shells or even a wait time to re-fire. Corki on the other hand fires at 1225 to 1375 range and though there is a 2 second cool down after each use and the damage can be more than what Jinx can fling, its poke damage and bonus (up to 150/270/390 (+45% AP) (+30/45/60% AD)) on every third use is very nice (though it is a skill shot).

Her W isn't reliable, and like Cailtlyn's and many others, if you land it, its very rewarding. Just dealing a ton of damage isn't all it does. You slow them, its range goes beyond that of 1000 and the 2 second slow if fantastic. Not as good as Varus' Q but still nice as it can reveal stealth enemies. Its avoidable but it still doesn't stop it from hurting when it hits. It definitely not as nice as Varus who can deal % health damage + more damage if he hits you with a longer range (that goes through multiple enemies not dwindling the damage I might add or think...).

The E is very original and has no comparison. Its damage is fair and the root is also fair.

And lastly, her ultimate is a fair damaging rocket that if it hits you, you more than likely automatically die to the massive damage it has but its still a impressive feat to hit someone from far off.

I just want to know two things:

  1. Why is it that Jinx's Q passive (of all things) works on turrets? I know that if she were to stack it up on a nearby minion or something and then go on and hit the turret, it would be fine. But, the fact that she gains a automatic 30, 40, or even 50% bonus AS can be very OP when laning against her. (This is not really including the level bonus.)
  2. Why does her W reveal? I can understand her E revealing as it is a snare trap but her W is just a safe way to both check bushes and poke from a long distance.

I'm not trying to compare her, but trying to give examples. Corki and Varus do way more damage.... Well, Varus deals more damage and is allowed 330 MS (About to start petition for Corki to be allowed 330 MS)... and are in some ways more OP with armor pen and damage/slow/health regen stoping abilities. I just want to know why these abilities that are a little unfair to not the opponents themselves but the area that of which is safe and easy to bypass, by Jinx's Q and W.

You can build essence reaver on her, but you wont get the shield from Bloodthirster to make up for her immobility, or the BotRK to help with those in your face bruisers. You can get Manamura, but that will drastically lower your late game damage as you are giving up either your life steal or crit or penetration to do so.

Her 675 range is significantly lower in the early game, she is mana hungry throughout the whole game, her rocket has awful base damage and is SOLELY an execute, and a long range one at that, and champions who can ramp things up with autos have always in my memory been able to do so off of towers. Punish jinx early and she is worthless. She is an incredibly late game dependent champion who needs people to protect her. That is her weakness.

Yeah, but you can still turn around and buy both BotRK and BT. You don't really need the AS boosting items since you already can get above 1.5 with just the passive at max level. With the BotRk, you get above 1.5 AS at a earlier level and possibly almost 2.0 AS at max level.

So your item build end game is boots, BotRK, BT, Essence reaver, Manamune, and.... Last whisper? Where is your crit? You give up Jinx's best phase, the late game, for mana. Ultimately, if you are playing jinx late game, you have enough mana just about 100% of the time to not need an essence reaver or manamune. Champions who spam abilities or have high mana costs DO need those items, but jinx's rockets don't cost enough late game to hinder her and cost enough early game that it makes early game her weak point. You can't get that mana early because jinx needs an early IE to help her out of her weakest phase.
