Would this game be hurt if Edge of Night were removed?

I want your opinions. It just seems so problematic and impossible to balance with that active. Even if it only lasted for three seconds, thats long enough for an assassin to jump you and avoid a spell with it.

Before my thread i used to think that i wouldn't hurt league

but i got several feedback from some logical players who told me that since riot increased the burst time of assassins, they can't work without edge of the night

my answer now? i don't know, but i do know one thing the assassin rework didn't solve anything

Except edge of night is only for AD champion not AP assassins.

AP assassins didn't change that hard, katarina still assassinate you too quickly, leblanc takes time but she was like transformed into a mage

That's the entire point of the item.

I think it's fixable, but it's going to take a lot more number tweaking. If the AD was gutted on this item, making it mostly desirable for the lethality and the active, I can see it being decent. I would have it build from Serrated Dirk and two Null-Magic Mantles.

But on the other, why should mages have the possibility to buy Hourglas then?^^
