How do you approach a lane vs zed as syndra?

I simply cant do it well, out of 100k mastery points on syndra and this has always been like the one matchup I just cant beat. I mean pre 6 I'm usually decent, but Post 6 he will probably have hex drinker and edge of night, while I will probably only have Morello and zhonyas (3100+1300=4900) (2900+2900=5800) Assuming he gets maw just add about 1700, so this is considering its a passive lane without snowballing, he can completely stop syndra with the edge of night passive, then negate more burst with maw, and while I can stop his ult with zhonyas, that's it, that's all I can do. Tips would be appreciated

I actually don't know which one of you I hate more....huh. I guess if you both mutually destroy eachother each game, it would be just great. But no really? Q to stop his passive shield, dodge the shuriken if you can. If he ults, zhonya. IF you are under tower and he ults, zhonya after Qing, then use W to throw ball immediately onto clone to give him damage as he tries to escape. Save e to either knock him away after he shifts, or insec him into turret cuz after ult he will always be behind you.

If he gets really smart and starts shifting to W immediately after he ults to dodge your E, place a Q on his W clone, zhonya and when he shifts, to W to dodge your E, fire E at the ball instead, will stun him, then fill him with enough balls to get him to question his sexuality.

The reason I don't tell you to all in unless you are under tower is because you don't want to all in when you are btoh 100%. He specializes in 100-0 and so do you. In a fight where two bursters fully commit, teh one who unleashes his damage first wins. If you manage to disengage, then you have lane advantage to poke him till you can safely ult him. Unless you want it to come close, playing smart will help you survive in lane. What you want in a swingy match up liek that is to poke eachother. If he tries to all in you, use my strat to disengage, then bully him until he's low because he is all cooldowns. Early sorc Shoes will help with his drinker. Maybe running some Mpen in runes could help too.

Another hint: Zed is prone to a condition I lovingly call assassin syndrome. The reason people play assassins is to feel the thrill of bursting their opponents. They will be looking for opportunities to 100-0 you in a single nuke. They LIVE to kill you. If you play "Cowardly" and deny him poke (with some mechanical skill) then he will eventually do one of three things:

  1. -Most likely in lower elo (like mine). He will get impatient at 6 and just all in you regardless of the situation. IF you dodged his poke, and let him push, you are under tower and can use that to your advantage. I take Exhaust mid lane against assassins for this moment. He will blow everythign to kill you and either you will live and he will die, or you both live because he couldn't follow through.
  2. -less likely, He will push lane and then roam bot for doubles. keep the river bush warded to keep track of this possibility and ensure you bot lane is aware. (a Zed mia ping is enough to wet the pants of any ADC). You take this opportunity to push up and then take an easy back for items, or roam top with your JG to take top.
  3. -least likely, He will push up, fake going bot and instead wait for you to push, possibly with his jg. Wards will easily stop this, and if this attempt is foiled, he will refrain from this again, and instead do 1 or 2.

PS the only reason I feel like I can give someone with 100K mastery advice is cuz I live to shit on assassins. I have gone so far as to play Cho'gath and Zilean mid, just to laugh at their attempts to snowball. I have played against assassin almost every time I've gone mid, and I've forced assassin syndrome on them almost every time I've played. Sometimes thinking about the player behind the champ clues you in to how to beat them. Their motivations to play a certain champion, how they want to play against their opponent. Most people play assassins the sole reason of killing over and over and as much as possible. If you don't hand them an early kill, they'll get anxious and feel like they're useless. A mage might not be a counter, but mind games counter everyone...except tanks, cuz they are all about slow and steady. (Tank main here). I

You can't ult first, or else he wins. When he ults q on top of yourself for a free stun when he lands from ult. qewwr and he's dead with ignite and thunderlords. Also your q can be used as poke on a much lower cd than his. Go for free poke whenever he tries to last hit a minion since he's immobile for a bit. By the time he finishes hexdrinker And edge of night, laning phase is almost over at which point you can still outplay if you q pop his edge and follow up for a free stun. Also. If he lands double shuriken on you you instantly lose. So if it is going to be an extended fight instead of flashing after he hits you with everything to avoid getting last hit, flash his abilities so you can turn the fight.
