If Master Yi is not included in Assassins update, then what is his role in this game then?

I thought that Katarina is AP counterpart for MasterYi, but she gets rework to be better but Yi dont. If Master Yi is not an assassin, neither tank, bruiser or junggernaut, then what is he then? Dumpster Diver? Cause thats what he was doing since 3 seassons.

He's really a light fighter/melee ADC hypercarry.

Yi being in same subclass as Yasuo just makes me rofl..

Unlike Assassins, Skirmishers aim to shred through any nearby enemy that approaches. Because Skirmishers lack high-end burst damage or reliable ways of closing in on high-priority targets, they are instead armed with situationally powerful defensive tools to survive in the fray, along with extreme sustained damage to cut down even the most durable targets.

Both fit this description quite well imo.

He's reliant on knockups (A regular Glass cannon-Skirmisher Yasuo won't be able to walk up and press E on someone, let's be fair.)

Alpha Strike and Meditate.

their last melee ad carry was technically fioras gameplay update.

and imo yasuo is the perfect example of how a melee adc should look like. hes really really well designed.

in the perspective of if yasuo is able to do his job, yes he is well designed

however people hate yasuo despite the well design because they find him unfair to play against.

the reason yasuo can work as a melee carry is because he brings utility like gangplank.

people lose their shit, because hes a champion who specifically counters ranged champions. it was the same with morde on bot lane.

melee champions usually have a disproprtionate disadvantage when fighting ranged champions and getting kited with a ton of damage. a lot of ranged champions in the game actually hardcounter certain melee champions.

now when the situation is suddenly reversed, and there is a melee champion who has an advantage specifically towards ranged champions, those players feel cheated.

He's not really an assassin, the way he builds just lets him feel like one. Crit does that.

He's an "eh" version of Yasuo.

Master yi isn't much of an assassin tbh, he has tools to gap close onto one person but his kit doesn't encourage execution rather he just presses R and hacks at any whoever he can reach before being blown up himself.

He's a melee AD carry.

They don't need to update every champion when they do a class update...
