Around every 10 games I get about 1 or 2 people who's boosted. And by boosted I don't mean "in the process of being boosted." I mean they've been boosted from probably bronze to high plat or low diamond ELO, and then the owner of the account who paid for the boost queue up for rank. Now that's not a lot and SOME discrepancy can be counted as tilting but there is still a rising number of people being boosted and it's WAY more than previously.

PiVoRx18 votes

Pretty much this, D5 is crawling with boosted people (if you would want a boost, obviously to diamond) and it has become elohell impossible to climb from.

Someone may say that its "bad game" from them, but 0-11 kassadin or 1-14 yasuo after laning phase is a bad game? In diamond? I dont think so.. its something more.

And they actually dont need to pay, or even invite diamond + friends, you can just make a 4-5 man premade with equal league/division and stomp solo/2man premades for free wins (compared to riots 3%, i can safely say that im playing against big premades at least half of a games), and instantly jump even whole league or two.

That's... actually always been a common thing in Diamond lol. Some players get there by sheer talent in mechanical skill without much game knowledge, it happens. And those people tend to treat it more as a fighting game than a strategical one, preferring to fight their lane opponents at all stages of the game no matter how far behind they are.

And some just tilt very hard. Happens to the best of us.

Only Play Darius3 votes

No one with strong mechanical skills feeds that hard on Kassadin and Yas.

OyddAWqJ5r3 votes

You'd be surprised. Because all it takes is an early lead handed to the opposition that'll cause them to snowball because the "skilled" Yas/Kass person still goes hard for kills despite being statistically far behind.

Skill can't beat out raw stats, yet many players still try to do so anyway.

Spaceman5pff1 votes

I mean, in the Fizz / Zed matchup (as an extreme example) even if you fall behind, there is outplay room to be had, and you can still pick up solo kills.

Also true as / vs Leblanc Riven Yasuo Jax Fiora and the likes.

OyddAWqJ5r1 votes

And that's exactly the mindset that leads to harder feeding. The intentions may be well and good trying to win your lane despite the odds, but realistically there's just way too much risk associated with the small reward for doing so. You're best off letting your teammates play the game instead of taking the ~70%+ chance of screwing yours up more.

0/3 Yasuo vs 3/0 Lux Yasuo "I can outplay this." Team: "Plz don't try it."

Spaceman5pff1 votes

an 0/3 yas that is good can absolutely solokill a 3/0 lux, good or not.

Issue is, hardly very many yasuo players are actually good at yasuo.

Really? That's 2 levels likely also. Just stay away from your minions.

TSwift Is Sexy1 votes

Chances are, if that Yas was good, he wouldn't be 0/3 lol.

Eevee In A Jar1 votes

I realize this is a bit old but I wanted to add even if you are behind 1 kill, in diamond elo, you shouldn't take risks. That's how you go on a feeding spree.

billxx4 votes

If Kassadin doesn't hit 6 he will.

Only Play Darius1 votes

0/11? 1/14? Don't get me wrong I see Yasuo feed all the time but the last Yas I saw literally go 1/14 was in ranked where he was trying out the blood moon skin and it was clear as daylight he had never played the champion before.

billxx1 votes

Yasuos feed a lot when they suck yea, but I have mastery 5 with both. And The longer you keep Kassadin below lvl 6, the harder he is going to feed.

PiVoRx2 votes

Isnt ability in dealing with tilt a part of improving yourself? If you are tilting before 20 min and feed hard, i think you dont belong where you are, especially in diamond.

Eevee In A Jar1 votes

That's not true really at least about the part players in high rank should not tilt. Everyone tilts, even challenger players. I've seen masters and challengers in some of my games. In the beginning they'll go "Aiight boys I'll carry us" after showing us their stream. Then near the mid or end of teh game, they're doing the worst and say to everyone "Sorry boys tilting hard." and end up getting carried or simply lose.

These things happen. Just like any star basketball player or football player can choke on a certain night, a player can tilt in any game. It just happens. The difference in ranks like diamond is that those tiny mistakes you make hurt A LOT MORE so in a sense if they truly don't belong there, they will be weeded out very quickly. I see players tilt hard in every other game. I've been on tilt. It is extremely easy to go on tilt at 2-5 minutes into the game too. Tilting/making mistakes/choking is what makes us human. We aren't perfect.

IMO Rank is always about making yourself better. if you aren't making yourself better, you will stop climbing. So after a game they tilted, even if they understand it was tilting that made it like that, they should continue to improve.

Eevee In A Jar1 votes

If you're going 0-11 in laning phase, you're doing it on purpose or you're brain dead. I'm serious. 3 deaths is considered feeding out of laning phase. Hell a lot of champions start snowballing at 1-2 kills so 3 deaths into laning is pretty huge and will probably demand attention from your teammates. So imagine 0-11. You pretty much should open mid at that point. Even if you're tilting hard, you don't go 0-11. THIS IS LANING PHASE. That's like 5-15 minutes. Hell majority of my games I'm well below 10 deaths and I'm not that good.

And i take into account for the fact that they can tilt so I pay attention to their mechanics or game knowledge. You can tell which ones are tilting and which ones are simply boosted.

smurfs are more prevalent than you think. I queued the other night with a master tier support main and an ADC who was diamond 3 the other night. I was gold 2 peak last season. we lost every game we played which was about 5. we had two boosted people on our team 3 games in a row (who boosts to low gold??? im only gold V this season) and our bot lane which are clearly smurfs were not completely stomping lane. the master tier friend told me straight "these guys gotta be smurfs, gold players do not play this smart or well"

I mean to boost now you'd have to have a fresh low elo accoumt within a tier of the account you want to boost.

Unless you're talking about multiple boosters working together in a 5v5.

Otherwise I don't see how it's "easier" to boost someone.

Eevee In A Jar1 votes

Man I get that you don't see it but for most of us who have been here, we can see it clearly makes it easier; promotes it even if it's among friends. Making smurf is hell of a lot easier, grind to 30 while still kind of annoying is still pretty easy compared to what it used to be. TBH though I really don't want to get into it and explain every little detail why. I suggest you just search it yourself. Honestly explaining it and making sure you understand is not the priority here.

You're right,

Claiming that it's the season of boosting is more important than providing significant evidence.

I'm sure it has nothing to do with you being a solo player and preferring it another way at all. (Note I am a solo player as well)

Eevee In A Jar1 votes

Yeah... again why do I need to explain it to someone who doesn't research the basic knowledge we all know? Honestly do you not understand that dynamic queue benefits players like you in the ELO you are in. Why? Because you are in a ELO where you can solo carry much easier than any other rank. You can't do that where I'm in. Therefore when you run across a premade of 4 people in the enemy team while everyone in your team is solo q, you're facing no real disadvantage because the premade opposing group is just as bad if not worse than you are.

And it astounds me there are anyone still asks for "evidence" when the evidence has been there for quite a while. I'm not going to keep repeating shit people say 1000 times a day on the forums. Search it up and read it yourself or stop wasting people's time. As I said, people talk about this in multiple threads a day. Go in any of them and read them. Avoid the clear whiners and look at the ones with good points. As someone who faces diamonds in half of my games at the moment, dynamic queue is fucking bullshit.

There's no need to note you're a solo player. At that elo it really doesn't affect you at all except benefit you. That's why they put it in place. But it stifles actual real competition the higher rank you go. And the higher you go, the more apparently unfair dynamic queue really is. Honestly the best way to explain is how SKT do it in Korean league a lot. Queuing up 5 man. Sure they lose some games but many of their games are stomps. All the solo q players, barring the joy of playing against a pro team, who lost; those were not really fair losses. After all, dynamic is being shoved down everyone's throat and solo q is the only real way to indicate what rank you belong. Because even though no matter what you are always only 1/5 of your team, your consistency contributes to wins. If you are consistently doing well, it'll mesh with other players who do the same. Dynamic takes that out of the equation; removes individual rank accuracy. It's a system made to encourage boosting.

When you take into account the highest levels, I would agree that dynamic queue would be problematic, considering the way it's balanced is that it matches the premades against higher elos, and at the limits of the elo brackets there just won't be anyone of higher skill level to contest the premade.

I note that I'm a solo queue player because that's literally what everyone has been jumping on my tail for. "Oh you must like it because you bring your 5 man premade and spread cancer."

Eevee In A Jar2 votes

But I'm not jumping on your tail because you are bringing a 5 man goon squad with you everywhere you go. What I'm saying is it benefits low ranked players like you. Even if you are a Solo Q player, it wouldn't affect you if you went against 5 premades. The enemy team doesn't exploit your team's and your mistakes EVERY MILLISECOND and they aren't fully cooperative yet.

This guy in Youtube named Kim Riven has a series "What Happens when you run into SKT in Dynamic Queue?" The games are very fun to watch for us and interesting. I imagine a lot of these players against SKT had fun too. And I agree if it's fun we can try to replicate that; I think it IS cool to run into a pro team in ranked. But again; this is about fairness and competition. This skews that competition; it removes fairness of competition and balance to keep the game fresh and concise. Many were complaining LoL was stagnant and not evolving. This is kind of true; because they kept staying with the same model of "Solo/Duo Q." Many hated Solo Q back then and complained often about it in the forums. But it was Riot themselves who gave these points I talked about here and why they refused to move to something like Dyn Q for 5 years... then all of a sudden when MOST people are gold and below and will no longer see progress (as some of these players didn't actually improve; it just became easier to climb). THIS is why Riot implemented Dyn Q. Has nothing to do with competition or fairness. They know they killed it with Dyn Q. Now this doesn't mean there is 0 competition. Sure there is SOME but it's not the same as before. Your rank isn't really YOURS. Before, it was about your stats and consistency lining up with your teammates and contributing for a win. That was solo q; and this way you can find out "How good am I? Where do I rank? How far can I go? Can I get better and if I can, to what extent can I push myself?" I know it is a team game but after thousands of game you will find the answer to where you rank. With dynamic queue, even if you play over 2000 games (Not you, someone who is queued in premades), then that rank doesn't mean anything.

If I get 3 man premades in enemy team that I beat or that I lose to, it doesn't prove any conclusive thing about those 3 players whatsoever; doubly so since this season is so safe and all about split pushing.

I just think it would all be more balanced if dynamic queues matched you up against similar premades. And I agree that it your rank becomes the average of your premade's skill. However, I can see how this would promote players banding up, playing together, and getting really good at winning eith eachother, which would also benefit esports.

Overall I wouldn't say dynamic queue is that different from solo queue, except that you have the choice to replace your rank with an average of several players. I wouldn't say that this is bad, I would agree that it puts purely solo players at a disadvantage, not just in high elos, but also in high elos. But if what Riot wants us to do is flock together when playing a game, then Dynamic queue will achieve that goal.

Yeah, ive seen people falling down from their boost. Someone was in gold 1 but playing with 9 gold 4's and had a much worse win/loss ratio than the rest. And they had no idea what they were doing. I camped him and was 4/0 before 6 minutes. He didnt ward once. Definitely just got demotrd from plat 5

Eevee In A Jar1 votes

A little update as this post was 2 months ago. I went from Plat 1 at 55% win rate. Now I won't say every game was all my teammates fault. Some of the games I'm to blame for sure. But I'm now Plat 5 at 51% win rate. Constant elo boosted players nonstop in my games now. There's no way people are tilting 70% of my games for 2 months straight in the sparing days that I do play. This game is done and now officially fucking sucks with guarantee of solo q NEVER coming back. If only small portion of players want solo q, why not bring it back? It won't affect Dynamic Queue at all. Riot's just straight out lying and pulling a lot of bullshit on the players. No point staying and playing. This game has been getting stale for a while anyways.

eastcoastblaze1 votes

Yeah man, I've been feasting off of the boosted players by ganking them (ty op.gg) and climbing so easily, like i've won 12 out of my last 16, but alas, no solo queue its time for me to start looking into over watch.

Eevee In A Jar2 votes

I've been looking for a permanent game to go into; away from League. Overwatch has been an idea but TBH I'm getting sick of FPS. I've played FPS since Counter Strike 1.5 with Team Fortress 1 all the way to new CS, TF2, and some console FPS. That's over 10 years of FPS. I know people say Overwatch is amazing but I just can't get into it.

I tried Blade n Soul; the pvp is great and fun as hell but the content gets pretty old quick for me and I know NCSoft prob won't update it every week like I require if I'm to play it regularly. Tried Black Desert Online. All these MMORPG's are boring now that I've also have several years time playing them. They're all the same; even the ones that require you to move around consistently. You start to fall asleep even on new raid runs and bosses because at that point it's all muscle memory. No real excitement. PvP in most MMO's are basically skewed with little balancing. But if I were to join an MMO simply for PvP I would go to Blade n Soul.

Just have no idea. I can't play another MOBA for sure. But just a damn shame Riot decided to go this way. Basically that's them saying they don't give a shit if people get boosted. Maybe I should ask my masters friend to carry me. 80% of players who's silver or below in my friends list are all higher ranking than me because they got boosted and they lurked the forums and waited for a smurf to post a thread about premades.

eastcoastblaze1 votes

I loved fps, though MW2 and Reach killed them for me I went exclusively into skyrim until I found League at the start of season 2. I never did finish skyrim. I might go there until i find a new game, and my orginal love of gaming was RTS so i'll look for another one of those to play. It's was a good 4 and a half years.

DeathBurst1 votes

That's not a problem with DynamicQ, if it's paid boosting by lending your account. Not relevant here.

Eevee In A Jar1 votes

There's no point of rank. Point of rank ladder is for competition and to find out where you can get with your skills.

DeathBurst1 votes

Sure, boosting remove all point to Ranked, but boosting is not a problem related to DynamicQ. It existed in previous Seasons, and it's not worse this season either.

Eevee In A Jar1 votes

I understand that and that's a fair point you're making. But for someone like me who only plays every other day when I can, it becomes difficult because my rank becomes diluted with people becoming not elo boosted but simply dynamic queue boosted. I just meant rank has always been to find out your individual consistency and value at how good you are and to see where you rank at the ladder. What are you really being ranked for then right now? Statistics show that premades of 3 or more clearly have advantages over solo/duo's. I get their goal is to better matchmaking for that but it's a very VERY hard goal to achieve.

DeathBurst1 votes

What's the source of your statistics? I'm interested. But if it is the recent announcement about "No SoloQ", it's not 3 and more versus 1 or 2, it's 5 versus 3 and less. If you have any other source of statistics, I'm really interested. It's kinda sad that Riot is not more transparent.

Just the bar graph that Riot provided is what I was referring to in regards to the premade.

And how do YOU (not YOU, but general you) know whether or not there are a lot of boosted people at this ELO? I mean you aren't seeing it first hand. No offense to you or any silvers (TBH this refers to everyone gold and below even in plat) but it's not like people want to get boosted to silver/gold only; it's usually people from gold or below that wants to get boosted to above. And I have significant amount of lower ELO friends that I frequently play with and give advice to so I know the average skill set coming from that ELO. I'm seeing so many of them at higher MMR matches where they simply CAN'T keep up. Other people made good points mentioning stuff like sheer talent with 0 knowledge or vice versa. But it isn't like that. They lack EVERYTHING. Like they were boosted and played their boosted account for the first time thinking they can keep up. And this is becoming SOOOO consistent. Even Diamond is diluted with people of skills from low gold to silver. And again not trying to be offensive to any of those players... but do you think you deserve diamond if you aren't as skilled?

Yeah, so as I said, that's not what the bar graph was showing. It was showing 5 vs 1-3, not 3-5 vs 1-2.

And how do YOU (not YOU, but general you) know whether or not there are a lot of boosted people at this ELO? I mean you aren't seeing it first hand.

I have no fuckin' clue about whether there are a lot or few boosted players. But I bet my hat that there isn't more or less boosted people than before DynamicQ. I don't know the percentage of boosted people, but I'm pretty sure that said percentage didn't change.

No offense to you or any silvers (TBH this refers to everyone gold and below even in plat) but it's not like people want to get boosted to silver/gold only; it's usually people from gold or below that wants to get boosted to above.

I trust you're able to recognize a boosted player, but once again, that's not my point...

And again not trying to be offensive to any of those players... but do you think you deserve diamond if you aren't as skilled?

Where did I ever say that? Or even implied?

At the risk of repeating myself, boosting is a very real problem, and it's NOT caused by DynamicQ. Are you and 3 of your Diamond friends disposed to boost your 5th Silver friend up to Platinum just by queuing with him as a 5-man? My guess is that you're more likely to refuse, because you'd prefer to play games for real, at your real level, where you're not artificially dragged down by someone worse than you, and where you can actually climb with your main account, instead of making someone else's account climb.

Eevee In A Jar1 votes

I'm not saying you implied you deserve diamond if you aren't skilled. But that's basically what Dynamic Queue does. And there is considerable more amount of boosting simply because it is done without the method of "elo boosting." For instance, just join a premade 5 man. You're not getting elo boosted. You're just "ranking up." But in reality it's the same as elo boosting.

And no by boosting I mean like for instance 2-3 diamond players will play on smurfs and look for other people to join their premade. Free of charge. This way they don't have to deal with people they don't want to deal with (toxic/ragers/etc).

General Esdeath 13 votes

No it's not boosting, it's perfectly legal and therefore isn't wrong because they're not giving someone else access to their account.

OK, but the people you consider to be boosted had to not muck up the games and lose them for their team. They still had to play the games that got them their rank. If a challenger is dynamic queueing on a bronze acct, then the matchmaking system will have adjusted their hidden mmr accordingly, and the games will be harder than normal bronze elo games.

Badgrz12 votes

could really care less for dynamic queue, none of my friends play ranked anyway, but holy crap riot quit punishing us solo q'ers for a dynamic queue's poor performance... mmr should NOT be calculated based on team performance, it should be based on solo performance... s6 is such a joke it's not even funny.. at this rate they should be handing out mmr for money, this season practically encourages it..

Eevee In A Jar1 votes

It wasn't just you. Everyone said that. It didn't help the fact that majority of playerbase (no offense) is pretty bad or low ranked so Dynamic Queue benefits them while it hurts for the players who are competitive and in high rank. On top of getting boosted players on the side, you also deal with the unfairness of going up against premades if you are a solo Q player. Only thing is I don't know if this is a good thing. You see some people I think view this as another 1% vs 99% like IRL wealth. The difference though is that this is about competition. YOu don't make the system easier for bad teams to climb up in tournaments in sports; you call that fixing games or collusion and there are serious repercussions for doing that kind of thing.

This is perhaps why this game is so toxic; because it's so competitive. If you ever play high school sports especially when we kids didn't deal with our anger the right way, we always got pissed off so much when we were losing. Not even at our teammates. Just in general. But our anger affected our teammates and put THEM on tilt. There are so many things you can compare LoL with real sports. But that's competitive sports. The strong stand, and the weak leave. It's not a nice thing but that's how it is. Dynamic queue is like the whole participation trophy BS generation. Everyone here I think has been called an asshole for saying Dynamic is bad. But more and more people are jumping on the wagon now. This is the main reason why I hate Dynamic queue though; making it extremely easy to boost people. The system itself is not a bad system but we all knew what would happen making something like this into rank. People who don't deserve certain ranks will get there via boosting.

The issue here is Riot is using a system used in chess (the ELO system) to rank people on the ladder. The only problem is that ELO rating is only meant to be used for a single person and not in a team-setting.

It's a big reason why duo-q skewed the latter in previous seasons but it was less apparent because it was only 2 people versus what we have now.

Boosting has existed every season with duo queue stop acting like this is something new and specific to dynamic queue. Also the number of people being boosted is actually very small.

This is a fuckin' myth. Yeah, sure, everyone is boosted by... who exactly? Even if I wanted to be boosted --and God forbid, I don't want to-- I don't have 3 or 4 Diamond "friends" who would be ready to spend the dozens of games necessary to carry me up to Diamond, all the while compromising their own chance of winning for what? Just because they are good friends? Please don't make me laugh...
