Why is it that I lose LP during a promo when I lose, but gain none when I win?

This is such an aggravating feature. So I lose 2 matches in my best of 3, and all of the sudden I am back at 50 LP. I need to win 2 - 3 more games in a row to get back to promotion. You win those 2 games and now I am in the next tier, but I am stuck at 0 LP. I have the chance of losing again and going right back down to the previous tier. Wtf? Why shouldn't I be boosted to the next tier with at least 15 - 20 LP for that win which is at least a bit of a safety net if I lose the next game.

I think it based moreso on your hidden elo, then how U actually did in promos. Like every time I lost promos, I would end up with 90 LP.

U cant go over 100, losing promos means u lost more than you won. Therefore you always drop lp. If you lose 1 then win 1 then lose 1 you should go 100>80>100>down to 80 at the end.

There is a safety net, it isn't in points but it takes at least 3 losses in a row to drop out of a division you just promoted into.

I wouldn't mind if they started you at 1 LP though, which would add one more game to the safety net (first loss puts you at 0 LP and then it takes however many consecutive losses to demote).
