what if Lux W could be target-casted?

kind of an odd thought i had yesterday that i thought was worth putting out

but a big complaint about lux W is how unreliable it is for a defense spell - that you are very much at risk of teammates juking your shield and thus reducing your ability to help them. so what if we added like a hold-to-lock mechanic like WW Q, or maybe just a lock-on when hovering over allies like bard's W, that could let you guarantee a shield on at least one person?

i think this could be a solid buff to her support role and general team utility without being a direct numbers-up like she tends to get, which also doesn't usually help her come back into the meta.
