Hooooollyyy shiiiiiet it doesn't matter what riot does. The main complaints of the old one was that he's way too generic, linear, feast/famine, awkward abilities, etc. The reworks features new unique mechanics that'll actually make him stand out from other fighters. But now it's like "Oh no his AA reliance is gone" "Oh no, his stupid flag wings are gone" "Oh no his awkward ass dash is gone" "Oh no he was so POETIC" LMAOOOO

I don't really care for Aatrox or his rework but you people are fckin crazy and need actual help. downvote away bois

Nobody said that old aatrox is better

Old Aatrox was more Aatrox than new Aatrox that is Riven but released in 2018 But since riot likes to kill champions like old Galio and replace them with generic champs nobody cares

Modernizing a champion's kit but keeping a similar play style like they did with Irelia or GP is one thing. Turning it into something that isn't even REMOTELY similar to the original champion is just alienating the player base and completely indefensible.

They basically deleted an old champion from the game and added a new one that looks similar.

They could have kept him as a duelist who is a serious threat in close range, instead of an AOE CC support fighter who gets rick'rolled by any duelist if you stand on top of him, which all of them will be able to do.

Aatrox's rework blows on all levels, and your apologist behavior for Riot is disgusting.

He's still good at dueling, but now you actually have something to play around instead of stat-checking.
If you stand on-top of him you get trapped by his W and his Q's 3rd hit is a circle like his current Q. He can use his E to reposition for his first 2 Q hits, then land on top of you for the 3rd one.

Granted, some of those beat current Aatrox 1v1 as well, but those are just the ones I am almost positive will be smashing his boy pussy in.

Here's some that I think are likely to stomp on new Aatrox, but I could be wrong.

Akali Camille Darius DrMundo Garen Graves Illaoi Irelia Kaisa Kayle Kayn Kled Malphite Mordekaiser Shen Swain Urgot XinZhao

Just go past him lol. Most of the champions I listed have a way to go past Aatrox using mobility, can avoid it through some hot outplay button like Camille's R or Yi's Q, or are so bulky they can probably just ignore it because Aatrox's DPS looks strictly inferior to how it used to be (which also hurts his sustain, as opposed to old Aatrox who healed based on his missing health).

E is a baby dash, and he will need to use it to escape being buttdevastated by the champions I listed who largely are much better at getting on Aatrox than Aatrox is at escaping.

Idk man, I could be wrong and I hope I am, but he looks like a supportive fighter who gets dunked by most fighters who get on top of him.

What? How did stack W into 3rd hit, jump on person, slow them, and proceed to auto attack not make sense as a kit to work together? You have 2 CCs to stick to people and a bunch of basic attack modifiers.

But they did, he was an auto attack based champion. W toggled damage vs heal on autos, Q gave him a gap closer with some cc, E gave him a slow to stick on his target and auto more, R gave him a steroid and range boost, his passive fully stacked gave him an attack speed and attack damage steroid. Literally everything in his kit was designed to help him auto attack as much as possible and make the best use of his autos that he could.

Well i always found his passive as a nuisance. I mean there was nothing as worse as having to endure the feeling of a fight breaking out, and having to slowly feel your passive just so you will have access to your passive. Or getting bursted down before you are able to gain blood rush.

New GP's barrels made his play-style completely different from old GP. I see what you're getting at, but GP is a terrible example of it.

WW and Taric are much better examples of reworks that executed on original fantasy and playstyle, imo. And I'll reserve judgement for Aatrox until I get to play him. I don't like predicting too much based on vids. His state on release is important, too, and he isn't out, yet.

They didn't really remove anything that made old GP great though. That's my main point. He just has an additional tool to work with now but everything else is mostly the same.

Kind of.

He's balanced around the barrels now, so his other abilites are not as strong to compensate. In low elo, perhaps it's not a huge difference, but I find it to be noticeable.

A lot of the time this tends to happen with champions that aren't very popular.

I'm not saying its always 100% true but have some examples:

I think Poppy is kind of a fringe case on this one. Her changes were not for the sake of adding something new or fresh, they were because they had to deliberately keep her weak to keep her from completely dominating the landscape because of how her kit worked.

galio no longer exist they just made a new champ and slapped galios name on it. aatrox still features most of his abilities just made him a healthier champ and hes still a darkin the only main difference is his quotes which old aatrox has new one beat

the theme on galio is the only thing really scrapped, a decent amount of his old kit is preserved in newer/better form in his new kit. His old ult was turned into a basic ability. I miss old galio's theme, but the kit rework is good. I think it's interesting that you can find old aatrox in the new one, but not old galio in the new one.

Riot kept him garbage for like 3 years and you all fall for this stupid meme that "he's unbalanceable/generic/feast or famine" without understanding how the game even works. Aatrox is less feast or famine than Riven, Fiora, Master Yi, and Kayle even. He's literally balanced right now and has interesting gameplay revolving around stacking his passive.
