Another worlds where Rumble and Gnar are spammed top lane 24/7
Yawn
Yawn
So far we have seen
,

and
in just 6 matches. Wouldn't call that bad at all.
To be fair, those Kennen and Irelia performances were pretty forgettable lol.
and
yeah he did so great
sarcasm. he will never be picked again because hes absolute shit in pro play.
I mean, Splyce is an ok team but they did go up against SSG in that game. Let us wait and not cast our judgement till we see someone fairly good like Smeb or Impact or Duke pick it up. I could see him being a pick against some poke heavy teams because you can just hard engage their entire team before you even get softened up.
EDIT: Fairly good is an obvious understatement for those player btw.
I think with the proper comp, Kled could actually be really useful.
Kled/Hec/Cass/Karma/Sivir. Have fun getting away from that, and it's all made of meta (sivir maybe slightly weak right now but still ok) picks
FFS, start playing them back already....
but tanky top is boring.
(i dont mind but the camera literally never pans top)
remember maokai / gragas where they dont even bother trading or harassing because they literally deal no damage? and they let each other free farm, riot never wants that again.
?
?
letting any melee free farm?

I feel like everyone can kite darius right now because of the rylais mages. I'd love to see some sion engages tho.
I just want to see Sion once in worlds. At least once.
Though I'm afraid he'd get nerfed.

I used to play Shen and I thought that too.
Trust me, you don't want to see Sion in Worlds..
But...worlds champion Sion...
Darius naturally hard counters and massively outscales rumble post 6 in their interactions with each other. Maybe we can see some D man if the enemy blind picks rumble. Maybe.
Id like to see my boi out there kicking ass and taking names.
Darius is too reliant on building and dealing damage

"building"
"building"
All he has to build is a black cleaver. Rumble usually builds multiple AP items with Rylais being a MUST.
Rumble also has ranged abilities and so doesn't get screwed out of 90% of his damage by Rylai/Mallet

Considering that his biggest form of AOE damage/waveclear only outranges apprehend by 50 units and he's not particularly mobile, I don't think he has all that much more range than darius. The threat zone of apprehend is also a lot more lethal than the threat zone of flamespitter given the nature of being pulled to darius's face.
The game is more than just the lane though.
First of all, Rumble is the teamfight powerhouse midgame. Casters used to say it all the time - all he needs is a Haunting Guise, Sorc Shoes, and level 11 in a teamfight to have an impact.
Secondly, its a bit disingenuous to say "his biggest form of AoE Damage/waveclear only outranges apprehend by 50 units". A more accurate description is "His lowest range ability outranges apprehend by 50 units". You generally pick Rumble for the midgame ults - Darius has nothing close to that kind of range and AoE. Unless you have a Lulu, Zilean, or Karma on your team, Darius isnt getting to your backline. Rumble can throw down that ult from 1700 units away. Also, Rumble can itemize for Protobelt, giving him some extra mobility.
And lastly, pro games are nothing like solo queue. Its very rare for a team to put top in a losing matchup then completely forget about them for half the game. If top is losing (And the rest of your team isnt getting shafted just as hard), they will pull resources or stall to help that top laner get to the power they need (which kinda goes to the previous point - the gold required to be useful on Rumble is fairly low).
Theres a reason why Darius isnt being picked into Rumble, and its not because teams like to lose.

The reason darius isn't being picked into rumble is because of factors outside of rumble (popularity of rylais on midlane mages, damage creep, etc.). It doesn't matter if they want to send resources to top to keep Rumble afloat. Darius becomes weak to ganks naturally due to his pushing power while harassing. Against a Rumble who is almost forced to push like a madman, darius doesn't have to over-extend and make himself vulnerable to ganks. Darius is also incredibly hard to turret dive.
So, you just responded stating exactly what I said.
So, you just responded stating exactly what I said.
Not at all, if you can't recognize that then that's a mental failing on your part.
Can you not see that saying "darius isnt being picked into rumble because of factors outside of rumble" is the same exact thing as "the game is more than just laning".
If you cant realize you just repeated what I said, its a mental failing on your part.

So Rumble ceases to exist once laning phase is done? When I say "factors outside of rumble" I mean factors other than Rumble in the current meta. Rumble both in and out of laning phase typically suffers at the hand of darius. The overall meta is simply against darius's strengths.
The mental failing still stands with you.
I never said Rumble ceases to exist. I said Darius cant provide as much to a teamfight as Rumble. And you basically said the same thing - Darius gets kited, while Rumble does not. Darius MIGHT get a lead during laning, but thats about it.
If you think Darius is so great, why isnt he picked into all these Rumbles? Why do teams pick Kennen, who has a similar teamfight impact to Rumble?
So its your mental failing. The game is more than just laning. Rumble provides more throughout the game.

I answered that already. Jesus christ it's like arguing with someone in elementary school.
Because you cant seem to understand one point: You answered that question with the same response I gave to you. Hence, why I say you just repeated what I said, which for some reason you keep denying.

But for some reason you cant see that you basically responded to my post by repeating my points.
darius can also itemize protobelt
I hope you people can understand why. There are just some champions that become useful no matter what happens. Gnar basically can go full tank after being camped and just be that CC tank that the team needs. He isn't the only champion like that. We have Mao'Kai, Nautilus, Poppy, Shen. As for rumble, he does a lot of damage, is a good team fighter, is tanky, and deals magic damage, so he is pretty good if you are lacking damage, specifically magic damage.
Edit: By the way I too would like to see more diversity in pro play. Like, I wish Teemo was used, I wish Yi was played, and I wish Kalista was still viable (I know everyone hates her). But...based on designs most champions can't make it because they rely on things that can be played against by professionals.
But nah guys, yasuo is the real problem.
regular play and pro play are different. Pro play is a lot more coordinated. Regular play is well.... my Ez called my mid Zed a %%%got and the zed raged quit that second.
anything that can outplay you is broken in season 6.
Those guys forced me to tryhard and lose my mind for almost a month for one last S rank so I could freaking prove that I deserve the level 7 mastery...
I can't imagine how painful it will be to do the same as Gnar...
What?
General rule, if no one barely plays a champion, you get easy S ranks, if everyone and their mothers spam the same champion, it's a nightmare to get an S rank.
This because you're competing with all sorts of Elo for the champion to earn it.
rumble im ok with. gnar.... ResidentSleeper x6. boring champion to play vs in all aspects and intervals of the game. yawn does 400 damage with 3 auto attacks while having only armor and mr items Jebaited .
I like how Riot dedicated the past few patches to cater towards the competitive scene but they keep working on the same champs that we always see in every Worlds tournament. Where's Heimer buffs? Why can they work on Heimer and make him viable for once. Rarely ever played and touched. The patches were made to create variety and balanced playing field but they keep working on Lee Sin, Gnar, Elise, Etc. Where's the love for champions that never see play?
If it's because they are bound to be reworked then fine that's ok but for real...
Heimer at worlds? It will never happen unless everything else is nerfed to hell.
The complaints about "lack of champion diversity at worlds" have begun.
I might lose my mind if Riot strikes my lovely
with the nerf hammer or the tweaking wrench again.
He was the main reason i got addicted to league.
I doubt it. However Rumble literally shows up non-stop every worlds. I have no idea why he's ignored by most regions in 90% of games until worlds where he's pick/ban 100% w/o any changes all season long.
He is one of the easiest champions in the game.
So easy he works with most team comps but the only bad thing about rumble is that no matter how fed he is he cannot solo carry a game unless the enemy team are a bunch of complete twixs.
Dont forget about Elise, nid and reksai being picked/banned every single game. Thought I saw a red post they weren't going to be played...
Last worlds was mostly

You mean all the same champs every game? Elise every game? Karma rek and nid bans
Why do people upvote this wrong thread? Here are the pick statistics for toplane in 2015: http://oracleselixir.com/statistics/international/2015-world-championships-champion-statistics/ Rumble: 8.2% P/B Gnar: 29% P/B Rumble was niche picks and Gnar was just viable (42% winrate) - GP/Lulu/Darius/Fiora dominated the tournament. 2014 was the year Gnar came out, he was not picked in a single game . Rumble was the third most picked champion with an average winrate (52%) when compared to the other popular champions. Don't know what the P/B was as esportspedia doesn't provide this kind of data.
tl;dr: OP is bullshitting us. Rumble was a top 3 pick 2014 and irrelevant in 2015 worlds. Gnar didn't exist in 2014 worlds and was barely viable in 2015. Neither were "spammed top lane 24/7".
Rumble's been a free loss this tournament.
Yeah don't understand why he's picked that often.... haven't seen ONE good ult from him after watching 6or 7 games.
